So I'm starting to seriously lean towards the ProCharger setup for myself. Any of you guys car to share your complete setup and experiences? I'm mainly interested in what supporting mods you had to enhance reliability, if any, or if it was stock out of the box and what the end results were.

Fred, I'm looking at you. :D

*cough* Fred.... where are you!

So anyway, after talking to Charles from CJ Motorsports and Mike from AAM this afternoon I think I've determined how I'm going to do my setup.

* ATI ProCharger Tuner Kit
* 440# Injectors
* UTEC
* Fuel Return System (not needed, but probably worthwhile)
* 7 or 9 psi pulley

Basically, the ATI FMU increases fuel pressure which is why you can keep the stock injectors, but there isn't any control for timing. Go to the UTEC, you can't use the FMU, hence the tuner kit, but you can now control timing and fuel. So to increase fuel flow necessary for these power levels, you need to go to 440# injectors. Fuel return system isn't necessary, but since I talked to people from the two shops who produce the, obvioiusly they're going to recommend it. :)

Mike suggested reflashing my ECU again for the 440# injectors, which I think is a good idea. That way when the UTEC gives control back to the base map on the ECU its pre-mapped for the larger injectors. Since I did the reflash once, the second time is much cheaper. Just need to figure out if its worthwhile, or even possible to get it the ECU reflash dyno tuned for the baseline or not.

I'm debating Nismo cams and headers to complement the setup. Mike said cams don't make a big impact with CSC setups. I don't know either way, I probably don't need either one to hit the 360-370 whp I'm aiming for, but we'll see. I do know that if I do one, I'm doing both so I can save on the install cost since I've been told they're fairly easy to install at once. Still need exhaust and high-flow cats, I'll leave the 3/8" spacer, but the Stillen CAI and Z-tube both need to go. That should cover all the supporting airflow mods necessary.

I'm still a way off from this, I need to finish up the chassis and drivetrain mods first and start hitting some HPDE's to get my driver skill up! Looking at reinforcing the 5AT, BBK, full suspension and a couple other chassis reinforcements. Then the car will be ready for FI.

Sorry for the delay sean:

Here is my set-up (Drive Train Only)

-ATI ProCharger running 7 Psi Pulley
-AAM Plenum Spacer
-AAM Hiflow Cats
-AAM Ypipe
-AAM ECU Reflash
-J&S Ultrasafe guard
-EGT Gauge in Drivers door instead of vent
-Baffled,finned and larger oilpan
-Nismo Clutch
-Nismo Flywheel
-Crank angle sensore wire shielding
-Custom 6 wire grounding kit
-Greddy Oil Catch Can
-B&M Shortshifter
-Greddy BOV custom welded.

A BOV other than the ATI BOV is needed IMO.
With the 9si Pully compressor stall was evident on all 4 k rpm + shifts.
A Greddy BOV Custom welded into the Piping cured this.

On 7 psi Pully you can probably get away with leaving the stock BOV but once you inspect it you will see its pretty poor.

As a Baseline, my original set-up was
7 psi Pully
ATI fuel solution ( pump, sliders stock injectors)
J&S Ultrasafeguard for timing contro land and knock monitoring
Grounding kit

With this set-up and all else stock, the Z made 340hp at the wheels with a conservative tune.

No lean issues

My next step was :

9 psi pulley
AAM reflash
AAM Hi flows
AAM Spacer
AAM Yipe
AAM Reflash

Made 411 WHP but with some leaness about 6000 rpm ( up to 12.5 at 6600 rpm) the rest was 11-11.9.

Proably would been safe to leave it like that, even put a lot of miles on it with this set-up ( almost 10,000)

But eventually i was less comfortable with the leaness, especially since we had lowered the rev limiter to 6200 rpm to keep it under 12.0 AF.

Went back to 7 psi Pulley.
Made 360 whp with the above Mods and a retune for the 7 psi Pulley

I feel the ATI has a great compressor.

Was shocked by the low quality of the ATI BOV and the neccessity of buting a timing solution ( which is included in Vortec) makes the ATI a more significantly expensive choice vs the Vortec by more than the purchase price difference.

Chaning the compressor oil sperately is also a hassle.

But itsa great unti other wise , looks good, fast, solid.

I put many races on it and had it on the car for a total of 45,000 miles.

Yes 45,000 miles aftermarket forced induction and car Burns NO Oil.

The Procharger is still holding up well as is the motor.

The blue bomber is gone! :(

Yes... but we both work in the same building as the new owner :)
