***big Florida Meet***

Ok guys...per the thread going on in Advanced, I went ahead and started this thread to see all who were interested in doing a HUGE Florida meet. Now this isn't going to be just any meet either.....we're talkin having some of the biggest names in the community battale it out at the dragstrip..

Mazworks said they'd be down....Ivan and the AMS crew are game...and Duy said he could get a hnadful of some of the fastest S-CHassi cars from Texas to come out. That's just the beginning too folks...there are alot more big names we can getb to come out to this. I can talk to Ken and the guys at Enjuku to have them come out.

First things first......we need to figure out the best all around place to have said meet in Florida. An ideal place would have a dragstrip....possibly a dyno nearby...and of course hotels for stay as well as entertainment (resteraunts and the like). I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get this underway, but we'll need folks in the area we choose...to really pick up some of the legowork....

ALright guys....there's tons of interest in this so let's see what you guys have in mind...!!!!

I'm down. I've been in FL for like 8 months now and just looking to meet up with some people who have the same interests. I'm in Orlando/Kissimmee area. Post the details or PM them to me.

BTW, I own an EconoLodge here in Kissimmee near the Disney area and can probably accommodate as many people as we need. I'll give a special discounted FA rate for the meet. Hotel details are in my signature.

if you have it on the gulf there will be people from Miss, Al ,Tx, La, and its only 4 hrs from Atlanta, Orlando is closer to 7. I think it's 4 from Orlando to PC

I can also organize a drift event if we have it near pensacola or PC Beach

i really wouldnt mind having a gulf coast meet, like near drag strip there, to get more states involved. sadly i know alot of the florida guys are *****es when it comes to driving far :-\ and esp the miami guys they have it rough, but i do know they come out for the big events.

as of now the ease of at least making a successful florida meet is gonna centralize on orlando. i dunno about bill but i dont have resources or time to organize something in north florida but if someone else wants to step in and try for that, id be down. until then, we'll focus on orlando being the huge amount of shops in orlando and tampa that will pull in for this.

btw, lakeland dragstrip is closed down. it was only 1/8th but it was my launch practicing grounds :( damn rednecks making more mud bog pits. immokalle is 1/8th mile. way out of the way. bradenton is probably nicest track surface, ever since gainesville went to poop, along with moroso. OSW is orlando spin world, but a private day might help them prep it better and i hear it is improved now. (they finally paved those jokes of a return lanes after the lights). hey its good enough for PINKS! to film there lol.

Yeah.....this will be held in Orlando until I hear otherwise.....there's no other place that has more draw than Orlando....with regards to being central to almost everyone in the state.

Don't let that make you scoff at coming though. This meet will be THE 240sx meet that you'll wish you attended if you hadn't. It's shaping up to be a VERY big thing. The interest is already mindblowing considering I have nothing more than an idea to offer you guys. There will be plenty of talk with myelf as well as shops, vendors, hotels, the big names that are to come, ect......I will post whatever info I get as soon as I get it...

I'll also be asking folks from other areas to organize caravans for the event...so stay tuned.

Welp...just got word today that aparently NICO had thier meet planned for January. So NICO will not be participating in my meet apparently. I'm not sure how many folks they think they can gather for a meet in the coldest part of the year, but to each his own in the end.

I however am looking towards doing my venture I guess towards the end of March/Beginning of April...allowing the out of stater's to anjoy Floridas nicer weather!!!

So no worries....I'm not letting this fall to the wayside fellas....just gonna be pushed out a bid further, but it'll be well worth it in the end. That much more time to invest in assuring that this will be the biggest s-chassi meet EVAR.....in FL

I really want to line up next to every one of the top dogs out there in the 240sx world. I think its awesome that there are so many different ways to take a 240sx and make it a moster at the strip. Win or loose, I will be having a blast showing the potential of the KA motor. If everybody is game, we can throw some money in a pot and winner takes all. Its a super cheap price for the best seat in the house to watch your 1400+ whp 240 skate its way down the track :D:D:D

Hey guys.....wanted to real quickly let everyone know that this thing is a FULL BLOWN GO!!! I don't have too much more info, but it's def gonna be held towards the end of March and it will be in Orlando. I will be calling OCCC (Orange County Convention Center)....which is HUGE...tomorrow to see what we're looking at to secure about 500 spaces in one of thier big parking lots.

I have also personally talked to all the big names mentioned on the phone and they are all down for coming as long as it doesn;t interfere with any of the races to be held (end of March is the start of the racing season...). Also....and as far as I know.....we have both NICO AND Freshalloy fully backing us up on this so I'm excited to see what each will be able to do for us.

All in all....lots of good news....now the real work begins!! I'll keep updates coming as I receive info. Oh....and if of you really are interested in aiding me and others in this effort (even if it's organizing your areas caravan up. PM me with your contact info (E-mail, cell number, ect). I'll need all the help I can get.

Wanted to give a quick update as I have been sick the last week and have done a bit less than I would have liked to on this. I will be driving up to Orlando next Friday to take a look at a park that I have in mind for having us. OCCC will not work as that is thier "peak season" I was told and they couldn't afford to rent it out.

So......after I take a look at the par I wil get back to you guys and let you know the deal. It looks very promising, but I want to make sure it will al work out before setting an a actuale date. Might even be in the beginnning of March would be better for all the guys that are coming from out of state.

I will most likely be there to spectate, cause I doubt the car will be ready by then. So we will gather up a caravan to go. I am SOOOO looking forward to seeing all the cars I see on video up close and personal. And to meet all the people I talk to on the phone.

Here's a small update...I'm having a very hard time finding a date in which we can allng to happen. There is nothing open in March.....my idea was to have the meet on Saturday and then Sunday attend what they call "Funday Sunday"...where it's a test and tune day for whatever you're driving. Problem is...is that there will be tons of other cars there besides just us 240 guys. The only date I can forsee this happening is in Feb...specifically the weekend of the 3rd and the 4th.

Is that too early for folks or will that work for people....please post and let me know so as to start finalizing other things....

Yep.....I was unable to pull the cash in needed to rent both the parking area and the pavillion for the BBQ. I did my best fellas.....I'll try again later in the year....unfortunately I don't think I will have the apeal as this was was supposed to....with regards to inviting all the big dogs out to come play......I don't really know what else to say. I'm a bit more dissappointed than you could imagine...
