Wow, great thread! I've always said I'd love to get an old whale tail. Though I prefer the later 80's cars. I think the black one is around an 83-84 while the white one is an 85? I think the next iteration of styling is best. Best part is clean, rust free chassis can be had for less than $5K. After $40-$50K is dropped in the car it would be perfect. Or for a bit more it would be an awesome touring or HPDE car.
The Cobra is cool and all but I think they are way overdone. Plus the availability of a kit car cobra takes away from the luster for me. A true Daytona Coupe would be serioiusly raw but seriously out of 99.8% of most peoples budget. I don't really like the styling of them but I'm fully aware of how much they rocked road racing. Again, the fact that Superformance now overs a reproduction takes away from the cool factor for me. Makes it very affordable for most but then you would always have that nagging feeling that you're a cheater IMO.

Thats funny you say this because I like the older ones, more hard core to me, and LIGHTER!!! Oh and no smog.
both the 911's are rsr replacas and they look like they have the rsr fenders from the pre 74' the body could be older but the i think are both in the 70's,
I really like the idea of making a 73 911 RSR with a ls1 stuffed in the back. No smog rocks. But i'd have to sale the 240sx to fund the project.

I voted for "none." It was a choice on the ballot because "Porsche 924" or "Chevrolet Monza" were not offered. [shrug]
The Monza is a classic because I've actually never seen one.
