Here it is, expect this to be the closest to the production model as possible. Link for info:http://www.leftlanenews.com/2007/01/08/mitsubishi-prototype-x-breaks-cover/

This is the Evo, right?

whatever it is, its pretty hot. Definitely better looking than the current evo. I'm not a mitsubishi person, and infact believe they haven't had anything decent on the road since the late 90's eclipse. I was under the impression Mitsu was leaving the U.S., but with a car like this maybe there's hope.

yes this is a closer to production version of the next evo X. I'd expect most of the body, interior, suspension, engine to remain the same with the exception of the seats and headlamps, mirrors, wheels maybe.

I love the front end. The photos of the new WRX look like the headlights are really close to the same as the Evo.

I've never really warmed up to the new look for the lancer, I'm going to hold judgement on this one til I see it in person. I really like the current evo, this new one looks too "soft" i guess. I dunno, guess I'll just have to wait and see it for myself. Although over 300 Hp = nice, but what's up with there being only a 5-sped offered??? You'd really think they'd put in a 6 spd for a top of the line model like this, doesn't the current Evo mr have a 6-spd??

I love the look of the new one, I think they missed the mark in terms of looks with the current Generation.

Visual improvement to go with its speed finally. My preference will remain with the WRX's refinement however. Doubt Mitsu spent $ to match it.

i dont like it...honestly if mitsu put the motor and drivetrain in the new eclipse and some slight aero/wheel upgrades it would sell like hot cakes

note-i hate mitsubishis

I like... Mitsus been on a roll since they released the new Outlander. Now they need to fix the rest of the line-up.

I heard from the mitsu forum that it will be a open deck block. WTF!

UPDATES:

Testing mule photos taken, looks pretty close to the concept to me. Wheels dont look like 18's and they clearly went with a more affordable brake system comparable to the outgoing models.

who are the losers reflected on the car body???

Not looking good at all. They replaced the HID headlights on the Prototype X with halogens on the test mule. They replaced the smaller side mirrors with those extra large ones. They replaced the horizontal HID fog lights with the vertical single large ones. And last but not least, they put in a stupid clearly visible line along the side of the car ruining the previously clean looking side profile of the car. Omigosh! It's Franken-car!!!

Guess they were more concerned about keeping the price of this car within the reach of their intended customer base 20-30 year old males. I agree about the body moulding though. The prototype was a sweeter ride.

im sure it still has HID's and that line should be present on the regular lancer as well...that line is also something prevalent on the the acura TL and TSX models...Mistu did come out an say before its concept release they did want to upscale the car a little.

That line on the Evo test mule is different than the one found on the regular Lancers. On the Evo, it's deeper and uglier. I'd much prefer they kept to the Prototype X.
