Not really. GM was tied up with Honda, too. Honda allowed Isuzu(owned by GM, right??) to use the Odyssey as a basis for da Oasis(mad rhyming skillz there!).

Honda used the Isuzu Rodeo and Trooper as an excuse for the miserable Passport, and the Acura SLX.

GM also got to use some of Honda's 3.5L V6s for the Saturn VUE Redline.

I guess they could allow the Mazda design team to start designing Toyotas, and use that sweet 3.5L in the new Mazda6. Toyota could then use the Aston Martin DB9 (total sweetness...) as the basis for their new luxo-halo car.

I guess that was a joke... Ford stock is still nearer to $4.30 and no one in their right mind is buying it. An alliance is a lot different than a merger or buyout... I think those are the only two ways Ford stock would go up.
