Will you buy one, or will you forget about it? GM has a plan to help you keep it in mind for the next 2 or possibly 3 years, but why hype up the release of a car that should be coming out this year? Same thing with the CTS: It should be out this summer. Am I the only one who thinks they're horribly late in releasing these cars?

I'm still waiting on the 2015 Ford Interceptor Mark X. :p

Wagner was quoted as saying, "As evidence that we're not completely brain-dead, GM will build the Chevy Camaro". This was announced in August, but as Wherehaveyoubeen eluded to... it doesnt go into production until late 2008 and wouldnt be available in the showroom until 1st quarter 2009. As for the brain dead piece... thats still to be determined.

When Bob said that I instantly thought of Bill Paxton in Weird Science with his loud, moronic voice: "I'm not a moron you know!"

You mean this thing??

It looks kinda menacing but I don't really care for the wheels personally. If I was in the market for an overweight pig, it would be on my short list. As it is; give it a 20% reduction in both size and weight and then we can talk...

Till then. Me- I'm holdin' out for this here blue contraption:

What ever happened to that technological BS about cars taking SO much less time from concept to production??? Slowest from concept to reality ever goes to the Camaro. Poor thing doesn't stand a chance. It will be dated before it's ever released. Great work Chevy. Competance is overrated anyway.

It went into production last year. It took 24 months from concept to production. Not too shabby.

...but I guess you know it all. It's no Lotus, but it's lighter than its competition (mustang, challenger).

Don't you see? Thats the whole reasoning behind american "retro" styling is that it doesnt matter when the car is released. Its still going to look like a 60's camaro even if it doesnt hit the showroom for another 2 years :26:

By the time the car hits showrooms, people will already be used to and possibly even be tired of the design for it would have been around so long already. The car will appear old when it is finally released...I have heard the concept is already rusting.

is it just me or does the camaro look like it's got a unabrow?

they could call it cyclops instead of camaro.

I wonder if the quality will be as spectacular as prior Camaro designs? You can spot an American car from a mile away. This design is no different and is typical of the crap American manufacturers put out.

I think it would make a pretty awesome rental car... I'd never own one though. The profile view is pretty nice, its the front that needs work.
In fact, I'm even eeing some GTR similarity in the notched C pillar and rear fender flaring. ( i know its a stretch )

I saw one at the Philly Car Show. With the exception of the nose and tail, it looks nearly exactly like a '68 Camaro, with modern lines of course. I can't say I didn't like it. I agree though, the nose clip need serious work. It'll be all nice and mean and stuff, until they release the crappy 6 cyl. version for the teenage girls, then it'll just be another Detroit gimmick car.

Japanese cars: 4 cylinder standard, 6 cylinder for performance, 8 cylinder for top line exec sedans

American cars: 4 cylinder if you were a murdered or rapist in a past life, 6 cylinder for family cars, 8 cylinder if you actually want to move

Front end looks like an adaptation of the 1969 model which was a one year only style.

lol, for good reason. Seriously though, the new front looks more in tune with the Caddies.

I saw the car at the Cleveland Auto Show...I don't like it at all. Even though they are touting 400 hp, 6.0 liter, LS2 small block V8, 14" rotors, 21" front wheels & 22" rear wheels. The style is just out-dated for my taste. The wheels look fugly big!
