ok, i am making plans now for tax returns. i am expecting about 4k back.
my expectations are, for now, mid-high 12's. either doing an engine swap to a vq35de (would exhaust most of the money), build my own turbo setup for the qr (not to fond of, too weak in stock config, too expensive to build), a vq30de with a few boltons (cams, exhaust, intake, etc..), use a sr20 crossmember and do a sr20det (too weak stock, and too little money left to mod).
but here are my newest and least thought out ideas :vq30det from a y33 or y34. but i cant find any. and if i did, that would prolly exhaust all the money. but theres plenty left to work with also.
btw i do ALL my own work, so no mechanic's fee.

Did you ask the 240 forum?

why would the 240 forum be better? thats s13-s14-s15 chassis. not a y33-y34 (gloria, etc..)

its going into a b15 spec-v. travis from the v board has a kit (motor mounts, bellhousing, etc..) to do a vq swap. im getting that and the motor (if i do the vq, not the sr)

Go onto 240 advanced or beginner. You'll find an abundant amount of information on this subject. You will find info on swaping VQ into your sentra and into a 240SX. If anything else you will find someone who knows someone that has info on this matter. Good luck

This is the correct path you should take.

I don't know why you are so interested in a VQ swap. There is probably not much information out there. So do the swap and document it. The sr20det fwd can be just as powerful as a VQ n/a. btw 4k is probably not going to cut it.
personally I would just start off on a different platform.

Why would he go to the 240sx section for a sentra? For what the op wants to do, he can find some information in the 240sx section, but the sentra will not wire up the same, the mounts will be different, etc.

the vq30det is a turbo motor, hence the "t" after the "de". and it is rated at 300hp and 330lbft. sure a sr can be built to surpass that, but this is stock. imagine building on more cubes. more cubes, more response to modification.
and i have finally decided what im gonna do. i am gonna finish the turbo project for the qr25. it will only make about 330-340 hp, and suffer torque loss to the vq, but for the money, its gonna be the best way to go. should be good enough to hit mid 12's on slicks, and surprise a few srt4's.
