Hello All,

I wanted to introduce myself here and get involved with the discussions regarding the new G Coupe. I work for Infiniti Marketing specialised in the G Coupe and would like to share as much information with you as I can.
Some of the pictures that I posted on another forum already made there way over here, so I see that you are probably aware that we at Infiniti are going out onto these boards to engage our biggest fans and provide you with exclusive content and info as we move towards the start of sale for the car.
Please do be aware that much of the specs for the Coupe have already been released and many are still TBD, but I will do all I can to answer your questions.

So, I would like to let you guys know first that we will be giving you some exclusive content from the NY Auto Show. One thing will be live streaming video of the Coupe reveal to the press. Time and location are still to come, so keep your eyes peeled for any updates coming from me!

Well, I look forward to getting involved here and talking with all of you about our new car!

Michael

Thanks for the Insiders view Michael.
I'm still just as big on my 03 as I was the day I first drove it, but I was toying with moving up to the new model based on it's "glass roof".
What happened to that, and will it be an option??.

That will not be an option, was a concept-only feature I believe...

Will still have a sunroof though!

:p

Hi Infiniti Michael,

If I'm not stepping out of place, welcome to Freshalloy, glad to have you hear. I would like to extend appreciation of the pics you posted. This really renewed my belief in what Infiniti is doing with the G37. I guess by now you have a good sense of the passionate views held about this car.

I hope this car holds the same place in the heart of Nissan as it does in the heart of the many fans and owners of this car.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Michael,

First, thanks for stopping by ....

Are there functional brake cooling ducts (or a path to the brakes) in the front air dam or are those just design features?
Will there be a pass-through feature or will rear seats fold down again?
SAT radio is XM only? Or also Sirius?
Are the brakes Nissan-manufactured? Are the lines steel or a composite?
Do you have any engine bay shots for us?I'll be quiet now (well at least for a couple minutes.)

Still loving my 2003 G Coupe.

- Riff

I think I can answer the first part of that question. According to the Motortrend review the brakes are Akebono.

OK, going to take a stab at answering some of your questions...

- No, we will not have a twin-turbo option, or any other engine option for that matter.
- No, AWD (http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146416&page=14#) will not be available for the Coupe at launch.
- 18" Wheels will be standard on the Journey non-sport models, with 19" wheels optional, no more 17".
- Interior features and packaging will pretty much mirror the Sedan, so I could post info and pictures on that, but you guys most likely already have all of that info already (so yes, Navi will be touch-screen). The interior trim will differ slightly as the dimensions inside the car differ from the Sedan, and the Studio on Wheels system will be slightly different as well.
- Yes, the optional rear spoiler will cover up the chrome lip spoiler and have an integrated brake (http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146416&page=14#) light.

Engine, weight, dimensional specs have not been finalized for the public, so I don't have anymore information on those items than the press has already revealed. Price as well has not been finalized or disclosed.

As far as EX and FX go, we will be talking to them as they get closer to launch, but right now we are focused on Coupe.

Hope this sheds some light on the car. When my IT department finally frees up photobucket.com or flickr, I will be able to post some more shots of the car.

Does that mean well see an AWD coupe down the road?

I've got a couple of questions:

1. Why was the front end changed from the concept to production? The front end on the concept was simple, elegant yet sporty. Will there be two front ends like on the G sedan?

2. The new engine leaves very little to be desired.

That said, why couldn't Nissan/Infiniti update the 5A transmission and put in a lower OD gear(making it a 6A)? There have been some issues with MPG: although we should be realistic to realize that a 300+hp won't get great mileage, I was curious to see that the G has the same basic transmission from 03.

I think you'll find that the "NON-SPORT" model coupe will have a bumper similar to the concept and journey sedan. All the pics so far have been of the SPORT "S" coupe, and it apparently has a different front bumper with larger brake ducts.

Infiniti Michael has confirmed on another forum that the bumper shown is the "sport" and will be different than the one on the base model.

Michael,

Will the VQ37HR be a coupe only engine for the foreseeable future, or might it make its way into the sedan? Thanks in advance.

Michael,

I personally hate the front fascia on the Sport model. I had planned on trading in my 03. I would love to get the Sport model without the front fascia. My question is will the non-sport model have the 6mt as an option?

InfinitiMichael: You mentioned that there is a difference in the studio on wheels in the 08 coupe. I suspect one of the differences is an IPOD INTERFACE? Please tell me that there will be a retrofit for the 07 Sedan. Any info you have would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks!

Why would they do that? It would remove incentive for buyers to purchase the 2008 model, near the turnover point (when stock from both years is readily available)

Gumbo, do you have an ipod? If so how did you address the issue? If I could download ipod music to the "Hard Drive" on the car that would be fine, but I don't think that is possible. I also don't think I can burn "paid for music on itunes" to a disc & play eithor. If you have addressed these issues any help would be appreciated.

My wife owns one, but due to DRM, we refuse to buy music from iTunes.
So I really don't have anything to add.

I now have something to add-
The utility on this page claims to be able to remove fairplay from itunes content
