I heard that Lexus/Toyota and Nissan/Infiniti havae the same bolt pattern. Is this true? Because I want to transfer some aftermarket rims from an Infiniti to a Lexus.

You'll have to be a little more specific. Which Lexus and Infinity? I'm assuming your G35..

i do belive only low end cars have the 4 bolt pattern and most if not all ive seen have the 5 bolt pattern. its all about the offset.

The majority of Infiniti vehicle have the same bolt pattern. I've seen I35, G35, M35/M45, and FX rims interchanged. That said, it's no guarantee that what may fit on a Infiniti will fit on a Lexus because.........its all about the offset.
Bingo.;)

Add mercedes to that list of what fits.

The only differences are the hub center sizes and most aftermarket wheels have a large enough hole such that the same wheel will fit them. Toyota use a different sized hub than nissan but I don't remember which was larger.

We had a service writer who got some sweet wheels for his infinity Q45 and then swapped the wheels over to a mercedes he had bought and later on he fitted them to a lexus and they fit all 3 cars perfectly.......except for the hub which I consider very important.

Offset is how deep the center of the wheel/bolts sit inside the rim. Basically that means if you get a wheel with the incorrect offset you could have a wheel that sits too far in the wheel well, causing rubbing, or a rim that sticks to far out and sticks out past the fender, and you could have rubbing this way too.

I wouldn't call Lotus Exige a low end car :26:, it has 4 lugs.

the lexus SC, LS, and IS family all have 5x114.3 pattern. but he's right about offset.

never seen a lotus. and most of the time if you have a lotus you wouldnt be asking a question like this.

so now whats the difference betwen 5x114.3 and 5x100?

pretty much its the distance between the face of the wheel and the hole for the lug.... in millimeters. so the first offset is 114mm, the second 100mm, they both have 5 holes, but the first rim would stick out further in the wheel well than the second. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Here's some info on wikipedia:

5x114.3 is means five bolt/stud holes and the spacing between them. In this case the bolts are 114.3mm apart.

Offset is the distance between the mounting face of the wheel from the true center of the rim which is easily divined by using a ruler and being able to divide by 2.
