Trust me, dealers are not giving big discounts at this time.

I don't get your point. This entirely new model just hit the street, did it not? Who would expect significant discounts this early?

EDIT: I saw your other thread and I sorta get your point now - you didn't get anywhere in negotiation - too early to expect that is my point, but no harm in trying.

It's true that, in general, people should not expect discounts at this time. However, it depends greatly on your location and the number of dealers in your area. People shouldn't assume that if the first dealer only offers MSRP, that's the best they will get. We bought our Rogue yesterday. I emailed requests for price quotes last weekend and received a range of responses - MSRP+$2000, MSRP, MSRP-$690, MSRP-$790, and MSRP-$1062. I didn't suggest a target price, I just asked each dealer to offer their best price on a vehicle with a certain set of specs.

My wife and I actually test drove the Rogue today and came out satisfied with it. There were several on the dealership. An SL 2WD with premium package and cloth seat was priced at $23,550 with $6k dealer mark up.
Called a different dealership on another island and found another one with the moonroof package & premium package at $24k with $3k mark up. I would however still need to pay for shipping and tax, title and license.

But, I was able to haggle them to give it to me at $27k out the door includes tax, title and license and shipped from Honolulu to Maui. What do you all think, good deal or no.????

Oh yeah, getting Indigo Blue. ;)

I just knew you were too hot for this car to miss out on the first wave. Tell us about your Rogue. I also hope to see a few pics in the near future.

I know you wanted to get that Intelli Key, Bluetooth option. Did that work out for you?

Great color, that was on my short list. As far as deals are concerned, at this time there is not that much discounted going on as in the future. If you want great deals, buy at the end of the year not the beginning. We have to make peace with our inner selves that in is "good enough". I know that others would never have taken what I did, you don't have much leverage for someone is waiting for you to walk away.

Don't worry about what others think, enjoy that Rogue. Be sure to stop back soon with stories and pics.

Normally, we'd wait until later in the model year in order to get a better deal, but our Maxima got totalled three months ago and we were forced to pull the trigger early. Our Rogue is a Phantom White SL AWD with black leather and everything except the moonroof. Initially, I wasn't happy with being forced to pay extra for an AWD in order to get all the options, but after reading more about the AWD, I'm glad to have it now.

I'm not sure how many people in this subforum have Rogues yet, but we need more pics! Especially that white with black leather. I bet that is sweet.

as to a 3-6k markup, I'd have to wait.... I got my Gsedan within weeks of it coming out, paid MSRP and still feel like I overpaid, but I couldn't resist. an extra 6grand is like paying 125% of the car's value! Guess sometimes there ARE drawbacks to living in Hawaii

I could understand how people might desire the FWD in a warmer climate to attain the better gas mileage. But.........

Even in warmer climates there are rainstorms and driving conditions containing winding roads. Although there is a hit in MPG. you get such a major improvement in handling and safety. I just would not want the vehicle if this were not there.

My previous 04 Max SL did not even have VDC and it had such sloppy road manners. That torque steer, tire spin, and leaning in turns was such a turn-off. Now, I feel the Rogue has such an advantage. I anxiously await the upcoming in-climate weather to see what I really have.

Well, I had to wait awhile but they finally put it up. They truncated my final line to read more at FreshAlloy.com. Guess they didn't like the blatant plug???? ;)
