Pricing (at least in Japan), looks to be lower than what was expected. All of the rumors were "Under $80k", but based on that press release it is about 67k for the lower model and 72k for the higher model.

It is going to depend on the dollar. Its 113 yen to a dollar right now. They will pick a safe number and deal with the exchange rate from there.

Nov 14th in LA.

Dec 6th released in Japan

June 2008 released in the US.

I hear "local pharmaceutical dealer" pays well. Not many benefits, and some job hazards though.

Yea, I just bought some parts from Japan the other week, but that is the first time in a while, so I'm not sure how the exchange rate has been going. All I know is that 3 or so years ago it was about 99 yen to the dollar. That was nice, when all you had to do was take away two zeros :D

USD is going to continue to head south unfortunately.

Depends what you do. If you export - like how I have, its a good thing. More business, US dollar is weak. Lots more sold products. Costs are higher, but the export rise vs rising cost is in the export rise favor.

Sean, do you have any "hook-ups" for getting in line for the R35? :D

Maybe . I just have to use that favor for at least one person first. I think its going to be a litle bit of a fight in June 08.

In Japan they say they have a 3 month backorder. If thats correct, then by the time the car is released next month, I think they will have more of one.

I'm mulling this one over in the back of my mind. I've got my R32 up for sale, and if I get the price I want ($60K), add that to the fact that the Korean won is 20% overvalued against the Japanese yen, and if I sell my house and move in with my parents, then yes I can have an R35.

Would I go that far for a car? One thing's for sure - that front fascia has GOT to go. Someone's gotta at least make GTR Proto intakes that you can cut and paste in. Plus, it's gotta be RHD. Can't be a GT-R with LHD, that's just weird, like a girl with three boobs.

Now, I really have to wonder. Will an average Joe be able to stroll his RHD R35 bought in Toyko right through customs? Would Nissan release a "substantially similar" letter of approval, considering that the car is a "world" car and other than RHD or LHD, I've heard no mention of differences per market. Well ok, the US version probably won't have Japanese GPS. But otherwise...?

Why not ? You only live once.

The Mayan and Nostradamus say the world is going to end in a couple years like 2011 - 2012 anyway. Might as well die happy or content.

what would I get out of an R35 that I can't get from my current car?? I've got probably 150hp over it, I already own it so no waiting. Ah. Linear torque band. Reliable. My clutch pedal is slowly leaking DOT 4 on my left foot. It burns if you leave it on your skin too long. I'll bet the R35 don't do that. Probably won't have to worry about det and blowing pistons with an R35 on pump gas either, and better mileage to boot. I got 217 miles out of a tank of gas last week, and I was amazed - a record! I just drained my last tankful and I've only got 136 miles on the trip odo :(

As far as I know. I heard mumblings of a twin turbo or V8 G coupe thing.

"A secondary air management system enables the newly designed powerplant to provide approximately 40kg/m of torque during ordinary low-rev driving"

Sounds similar to the antilag/post combustion systems implimented in most WRCs over the last 5 or so years. Probably not 3.5 bar absolute at idle but I think its the first OEM car to utilise this. Pretty cool. The whole car is awesome (an understatement).

boy, I'd love 40kg/m torque at low-rev driving - under 4000rpm a Hyundai Accent's got more torque than my car.....

ah unless I am mistaken thats a totally different system. Anti-lag as the name implies only keeps the turbos spooling so there is no turbo lag experienced not neccessarily improve the torque curve but provides a faster mean of getting to the peak.
