Limited window of opportunity:Tomorrow at 4:30 pm on HD PBS, tomorrow at 10:30 am on Speed, Saturday 7:00 am on Speed.
I stumbled upon the March 12th showing where it was the final feature, after the Benz GL 320, $67K. Which one do you think got all the attention?
It really broke no new ground for this car has been reviewed into finely ground dust in the car mags. They liked mostly all about it but never really got excited about anything in general.
Beginning with exterior shots, they praised the generous wheel base, muscular wheel flairs, short overhangs, sweeping rear lines, and "buggy" headlights that can be xenon. Then opening the front door, a driver has generous room and comfortable seating. In the back (passenger gets in) a surprising amount of leg room.
Now to the cargo area. Rear seats down: plenty of room here but not as much as a Rav4. But this one has a secret weapon for long objects, passenger seat down too. With a rear foldable cargo organizer, the nod goes to the Rogue for errand running.
Radio shown, interior shots of gauges, and storage space. Also mentioned were special higher end amenities, Bluetooth and Intelligent Key.
Now to the test track. Acceleration is good, but "buzzy." I guess that means noisy. Anyone ever in one knows that. Stopping power is good (braking shot). Now the test cone slalom: steering lighter than we like, slight but prodictable understeer. Gas mileage was commented.
Fine car, good head to head competitor for Rav4, and CRV. But there were already too many of these so who needs it.
There, now you do not have to DVR it.
