My wife and I both love cars, I have enjoyed my 240s for about 7 years now. My wife has a Benz that she loved, and we both have a Scion XB for a daily driver, her's is an 08 and mine is an 06. It about time for me to move on to my next car for a daily and we both have been watching the Smart car for over a year now every since inside line said it was coming. I stoped by my local smart dealer the other day to take it for a spin. I was lucky aswell since my sales person was Eve Mendes's twin and I couldnt wait to hop ina small inclosed place with her. I walked around the car and looked at all the great options it has to offer the passion was my pick, with the blue body and the black frame. The interior is laid out very well, its seems your missing something but I found everything I needed. My Eve look a like pulled the car around for a test drive, after a quick rundown of where everything is and how the paddel shift tranny works we were off... As I pulled out of the parking lot I couldnt even tell this thing only has 70hp. It has no problem getting up and moving. When I pulled the paddle to upshift it felt like the car stoped the whole body nose dived and the it engauged th enext gear and threw me the other way. I was about to pull over cuz I thought I broke th edame thing already. Looking at my sales person like did I do that.... she said, O that how it shifts in M put it in D. So I moved the little stick over to the D and went on. after a few mins of driving in a 45mph spot we slowed to turn on a 65mph road. Pulling out it did the same thing when changing gears. I mean this thing will slam your head into the window. I started to lift my right foot alittle when I knew it was about to sift and the pushing it againg after the shift. I knew then I was not buying a car that I had to make drive good. I took the cute little car and the hot ass sales lady back to the dealer and said my good bye to both.

Do they come in manual? Sounds like they don't, but need to...

I gave up on SMART when I found out they discontinued the roadster. Shame.

It's a shame you can buy a Yaris or Accent or something for the same price of one of these "you can't do jack with them" mini cars. At least they get great mileage and are built around a cage.
