This looks like an Accord and a Crossfire had one too many drinks, had sex, and 1 year later had what was supposed to be an abortion..........:D

Nissan can't seem to find a good engineer that can design a good ol Maxima......I think if Nissan ever puts something nice together the Maxima can carry Nissan upstream into market because there are many loyal Maxima fans out there, this will certainly not do it for them and to be honest the Maxima line will be dead sooner than we thought!

But that angle on the Max in that pic is not flattering, it makes the greenhouse looks like a second gen Mercury Sable!

Dayum!! Nissan cheaped down the Maxima majorily this time around!! The exterior of the car doesn't look to bad except for the odd side accent of the headlamps. lol But the interior is looks cheaper than a $2.00 crackwhore from Lowell, MA!!!

the more you haters hate, the more I am able to love.

Get over yourselves, people. Nissan isn't out to please everyone. They're out to make striking designs that put emotion in people, whether it be one of love or hate.

If you love it, good. If you hate it, the design is still successful because it ellicited a strong response from you.

If you want Nissan to make boring everyone-mobiles, go join a Toyota forum.

/End Rant.

GTFO! The interior looks great. You want to see a cheap interior? Look in your garage.

As I said before, the 2009 Maxima is an improvement design-wise over what we current have to entertain. I have never been a real fan of the 2004-2008 design.

I like the Altima coupe, but I feel it's impractical compared to an Accord. The Accord, however, while well-built, is huge and flashy. The Altima is actually more understated in many respects.

Can someone PhotoChop these nasty side-headlight-things out?

The headlights look great, as does the rest of the car.

Two things about the interior though....

1. I would've liked to see buttons and switches that were Maxima exclusive and not lifted right out of the Murano.

2. The Maxima interior is nearly identical (other than the buttons) to the new infiniti FX interior. Come on Nissan, most of your up-market (Maxima, Murano, G35/37, EX, and FX interiors are basically the same...lets see some creative difference in these interiors. (They all look great though, just too similar in layout and appearance)

The headlights aren't terrible...

Very GTR'ish looking in the upper grill, bumper and hood.

Who cares if the buttons are the same? It makes the product cheaper for the customer. I find it kinda cool to get into a G20 and go, "Hey thats the same window button as my Maxima."

Overall I'll definitely agree that this is a huge improvement over the 6th gens.

I love it. It's different. Not the same old thing you see everywhere. People thought the CTS looked stupid when they first saw it.

The first-gen CTS is still fugly.

2009 Maxima looks good, but not as good as the Audi A5.
