there are plugs you can pull to drain it out, I assume you have done that already?

There are several plugs in the interior to drain water. I would make sure to get it all dried up, to prevent rust and mildew.
Definitely get the weather stripping for the hatch area, it should take care of the problem.

There are drain holes under the carpet(under each front seat) but they are not plugged so don't worry about that. Biggest spots to worry about water getting in on hatches; the main opening where there should be weather stripping, the hinges for the hatch, around the tail lights, the bottom of the hatch window if that weather stripping is old, and the rubber seal for the hatch wiper... you might need to use some rtv. Try to leave the windows down or cracked a little to let everything dry out. Hope that helps you some.
