Hi all,

Recently the temp gauge on my '95 240sx has been acting funny. When I accelerate, the gauge drops from normal to almost bottoming out. When the car is at a steady speed or at a stand still, it sits at normal levels. I at first passed this off as a possible issue with the sensor itself or its wiring.

Today my car overheated. The overflow tank was filled to the max line and there is no fluid in the upper radiator hose.

Just for some background info, I replaced the head, head gasket, thermostat and water pump (with OEM Nissan parts) a little over two years ago, so I'm doubting this is anything as simple as a faulty water pump or thermo and the car is not displaying any of the normal signs of a blown head gasket.

Any suggestions on what I should look for or anyone else run into a similar problem?

Thanks

thermostat

+1 for thermostat. If you're car is not losing coolant and you're overheating, then it's probably thermostat.

All that work and you didnt change a $50 nismo thermostat or $15 oem? Try bleeding your system again and also if you want use redline water wetter.
