sweet S13 racing in the 24 hours of Lemons....

posted 5th fastest time of the 14 hour race out of 75 cars....

finished 37th out of 75..... had some overheating issues and then was ran for a couple laps without water to cause a major failure of the head gasket and other important stuff in the engine....

had 100% stock suspension and stock brakes.... stock exhaust....

car was mostly all stock...

car was only 240sx in the field and almost got docked laps because it was (3k car in California.. where the judges were from)...

I saw the title partially on the FA forums homepage. I was hoping it was about 24 hours of lemons. I'd love to do a race like that once.

A car worth less that $500....ugliness is a plus...missing panels and hood mounted radiators (duct tape) are a must.

If your car looks 'too nice' or $$ the members acan vote to disqualify it...and detroy it....with hammers, fire and brimstone.

haha, guess i wont qualify then. i spent 300 on my car but spent over 15k in the engine. its still stock body with dented fender, paint chipping, and half a trunk rack but im sure 600hp wont fly.

Wow, where does this take place? I have a PERFECT candidate - a 1982 Datsun 210 4-door, complete, but rusty, that I bought for $100.00.

Cool stuff. A bunch of local guys in the autox/open track scene got together and fielded a couple of teams at the LeMons a month or two ago. Everybody involved had a great time. Plus it's tons of seat time and a no-stress wheel-to-wheel setting- just good stuff all the way around. One guy said he'd do it again just for the ability to try a bunch of different lines and "unconventional" passing techniques, hehe.

I'd love to give it a try but it's not going to happen until I'm out of college.
