As I returned late last night, I thought a little update would be nice.
The Z Association of Cleveland hosted an excellent convention at a superb location! It is always great to see old Z friends and meet new ones! The Zed Car group are always a lot of fun, I have a special place in my heart for Canada having lived in Victoria for three years.
We had a special treat with a VTC with the father of the Z Car himself Mr. K; he looked happy and definitely still enjoying the ride!
The car show was held at the fairgrounds and there was a lot of steep competition. 16 cars were pulled out for final judging to determine Gold medallion and Gold Cup. The results were not complete and will be announced tomorrow night.
The evening after the car show was very much a social gathering and there was a big circle of Z and Zed enthusiasts mingling and having a great time.
The track parade lap at Mid Ohio in Lexington turned into 8 or so with a picture of many Zs at the finish line. The course allowed for some speed on the straights and curves.
I was surprised that nothing was said for Paul Newman during the opening banquet. I mentioned to Chris Karl, Mad Mike Taylor, and Carl Beck that there should be a moment of silence to remember a fellow Z enthusiast and awesome person. Hopefully, something was done in remembrance of Paul Newman at the closing banquet.
Pictures once collected will be posted.
