First Infiniti

Hello All,

I just got my first Infiniti after drooling on FX's for a number of years. Mine is a black on black 09 FX50S and I couldn't be happier (except for some of the stereo issues which I posted about in the audio forum).

Well, I guess thats about it, hope to see you around the forums :)

PS. I was referred here by the salesman at the dealership when I asked if there was any way to bypass the parking brake "feature" for the DVD player.

Hey there, I just got mine broke-in 1400M. Midnight Mocha/Java brown interior. It's definatly an triple expresso!!! Last ride was an 03 FX45. These extra ponies make quite a difference coupled to that 7 speed. Havent had the chance to really sustain throttle through many gears yet but I will say that I dont wonder anymore whether I can make that pass safely. My driving style is sorta like "laps led" out there. Live in central coastal Calif. where i get to drive on continously twisting and undulating tracks (roads). I must say that this 50S feels much larger to me. I think that's because the 45's seat used to drop to the floorpan where I loved the hunkering down lower CG effect. In the 50S the higher seat position has a different feel to the handling but then again I havent really wrung it out enough to have the confidence in it as I had in the 45. Be careful!!! They really do have a limit on cornering as the 45 taught me on cornering too fast; fortunately ( what I consider the worlds finest crossover), saved my ass both times when it reset the suspension mid corner and saved me from going two wheeling or worse. Your going to love this vehicle; my 45 went 5 yrs. and 40K without a single problem. Unreal for a first year model.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I had my eye on the mocha/java combo myself, but I had a hard time finding one with the DVD player and ended up settling for black. But now I'm happy with it and I have always had black cars in the past, so this feels comfortable and familiar. But I bet your is beautiful.

Hey, any chance you can take a peek at my other thread: http://forums.freshalloy.com/showthread.php?t=187233 and tell me if you have the same issues? Or maybe you had them in your FX45 as well? I'm trying to figure out if these are bugs, or "just the way Infiniti does it". I'd really love to get them resolved, especially the ipod issue.
