Maxima fans might interested to know that Nissan plans to introduce a 2001 "20th Anniversary Limited Edition" Maxima SE this September. Unlike previous "Limited Editions" this one is really limited to 10,000 units. It will come with with a slight bump in power; probably at 227 bhp like the I30. Various front and tail changes will be made on this model. Special alloy wheels and badging will round out the exterior changes. We don't know what interior changes will be had but we're guessing embroidered floor mats will be one of them.

What do you guys think? Should Nissan increase the horsepower even more? Should there be brushed aluminum interior trim?

Well, the Max already has a ****load of HP.
I want more, especially torque. I think the max should have at least as much as its american competitors (IE Bonneville SSEi, Grand Prix GT2 or whatever) If it already doesnt, this car should be able blow away almost any sub-30000$ midsize.
Can anyone say supercharger?
Dammit, i wanna buy a Max in june, depends on what the changes are, then i decide.

Sounds good to me but how is anyone going to notice 5 more horsepower on a car that can't fully take advantage of the powerband. Hopefully they will raise the redline. VQ30DET, body kit, performance suspension and I like your idea of brushed aluminum Those things would make a "limited edition" that would turn heads.

Don't discriminate 5-spd cars, give them electronically controlled engine mounts and traction control (they are available with the slushbox only now http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum//images/icons/frown.gif)

The idea of front/rear changes intrigues me, since I think the Maxima's current front end is ugly.

However, 5hp is nothing and this "LE" is basically nothing. I'm waiting for the 2002-2003 (maybe sooner?) Maxima SE-R with a VQ35DE...

The curiosity is killing me, I wish Nissan would release some early pictures of this car.

I would like to speak as part of the adoring maxima fans. I like the tinted lights idea, but with high polished wheels, I would like to see HID headlamps maybe,high-contrast needles and carbo fiber trim would be nice, perferated leather would definately be great with dual or even quad exhaust one muffler on each side please. Oh and as for that already killer engine 227 is nice, but they are some smart guys over there at nissan. How about the 240bhp that is in the pathfinder, or if you really want to make us adoring fans drool, work some magic with the V8 in the Q-Ship, and sit back and allow those GS400 owners the experience of feeling of a slacked-jawwed look for once. Who knows if the price is in the low 30 neighborhood, Nissan might just have a few GS series on there used car lot to boot.

Perforated basically means that the material has thousands of pinholes in it, for better ventilation....(as I understand it).

I think it just means simply leather. Maybe there are different types of leather on parts of the same seat. Thats what the QX4 has and some parts of the seat has different feeling leather. Thats probably why its called "gathered" leather seating surfaces. You know what, I have no idea. If the P in perforated is in Cpas, then its a brand of leather, I would have to say.

I think that perforated leather is the kind of leather that has little holes in it for better ventilation. (Just like what someone else posted before). Remember "perforated paper" in your notebooks from elementary school and high school? that was the kind of paper that had hundreds of tiny holes along the side so that you could tear it out neatly - none of those messy paper "fringes" that teachers hated so much. Gathered
leather has little ripples in it - it is not stretched tightly against the seat. I think it's done more for comfort, though it doesn't really matter much to me.

Perforated leather, is leather with little holes in it. Similar to the leather in the 2001 Nissan Pathfinder and the 2001 Acura CL Type S. I keep hearing about "Magestic Blue" was it ever available in the older forth generation Maxima? Personally, I'm going to wait on the 250/260 horespower maxima. http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/tongue.gif

227hp would be a wast of a 20th edition! They sould pump more hp/torque from that engine. I just hope they wont be to lame on developement.
