Has anyone had any trouble with the 2000 Maxima or I30? My 2000 I30 seems to have some problem with the key chain remote. 10% of the time when I push the remote to lock or unlock the doors nothing will happen. (This happens with either of the two remotes.) My brother has the same car, and he has noticed the same problem!

Anyone else have this problem with their 2000?

my dad's mitsubishi galant has the same problem with the remote keyless entry deal. he believes it's the battery, though he hasn't changed it yet. you could try getting a new battery for it

Since the car is new and it happens with both remotes and to my brothers car it makes the battery less likey. I suspect it is some problem the the receiver in the car.

Anyone else have the problem?

the galant is a 99, and it started happening shortly after the purchase of the car. it's possible that the keyless remotes were sitting around for a good while before the sale. also, sometimes the batteries that come with remotes run out fast--like the ones that come with TV's. i would try changing the battery first, if that fails, i would bring it to the dealer

I have the same problem with my 1999 maxima SE. It happens a lot sometimes, and then it will happen rarely the rest of the time. If it were rare all the time, I would think that it was due to human error, but there are times when it happens repeatedly despite pressing the button with authority.

I also had a defective tire, and a faulty rear oxygen sensor replaced under warranty, crappy FM reception, consistently poor mileage, and hard starting sometimes.

My friend bought a 1999 Maxima ES at the same time and has had a lot of problems in addition to some of the ones mentioned above including trim, panel fit, suspension, engine whine, power windows, steering, etc. The dealership hasn't been very accommodating with hem, and he swears he will never get another Nissan again.

Hmmm, I have two Maximas (a 99 and a 96). Normally on the Max, if you want to open all the doors you, you have to hit the unlock twice. Sometimes if you do it too fast, the system won't recognize the second click.
