No, because the engine is already freat. The Maxima starts, the GXE that is, in the $17,000 range. If you get a 222hp 3.0 liter V6 for only that much...why do you need an engine choice then? You already got the best in the business for less than the comp.

I don't think Maxima should have an engine choice -- especially if it keeps getting the sweet VQ series. Part of what makes the maxima a Maxima is the world's best V6.

Altima should have a choice between a four and six, just like its Camry/Accord competition.

The redesigned sentra has 2 choices (small i4, medium i4)
The redesigned Altima will have 2 choices (Large i4, Medium V6 which is 3 liter)
The Maxima when redesigned will have a Large V6 (3.5)
NOW,
-the Sentra SE-R should have a Large i4
-there should be an Altima SE-R with a tuned version of its Medium V6
-there should also be a Maxima SE-R with a tuned version of the 3.5
-ALL SE-R's should be considerably different example slightly lowered, larger mags, front/rear spoiler, skirts, sport seats etc.
my point is there should be an SE-R lineup
All cars should be offered stick or automatic with the Maxima option for manumatic

Infiniti should have a similar "hi-po" lineup like that of AMG/M/S, but important is that they should be marketted differently than the SE-R lineup. This new Infiniti "T lineup" should be portrayed as status symbol and ultimate in sportiness.

Very well put. Those are my exact beliefs as well.

I agree with all of the above as well. Maybe make a supercharged or turbocharged version of each for the SE-R model (like a S/C VQ35DE for the Max, and a S/C VQ30DE for the Altima).

Hey guys, do you think Maxima should have an engine choice. So far: Sentra, Altima, Xterra and Frontier all are getting or have engine choice. Don’t you think Maxima deserve one too?
