I do not have ABS, and I feel that the Maxima has poor braking power. I'm thinking of getting Porterfield brake pads.

I have a RSB, anybody has a FSTB?

you have no abs? what year maxima do you have? abs is standard on the most current years of all trim levels (94-01)

I don't know about Canadian models but in the U.S. with the 95-99 models, ABS was an option. However all U.S. 2000+ Maximas have ABS. I think Nissan's Canadian models tend to have standard ABS.

I'v heard from various Maxima owners the Porterfield brake pads are worthwhile.

Also the FSTB makes a great difference in handling. A relatively cheap upgrade with excellent results.

My Maxima is a 97 GLE, Nissan SHOULD have made ABS standard instead of a $500 option in the US.
The reason I asked about the FSTB is because I found one for $40 from procarparts.com and street-beat.com, and I wondered if anyone bought from one of these places. I know Stillen and Courtesy Nissan have their own kind of FSTB for $140 and $220.

The FSTB from Courtesy Nissan is only $70 and the Stillen one is like $120...

The Addco RSB is $119 (http://forums.**********************/showthread.phtml?threadid=4960)... $200 for the Stillen one...

actually, the FSTB doesnt make too much differance. you can get one for bout 40 bucks from www.streetbeatcustoms.com (http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com) (if youre patient enough to wait on their waiting list). what really improves the handling would be the aftermarket rear stabilizer bar and shock/spring upgrades.
