New Porsche Cayenne (spy photos.)

These spy pics are the best yet of the next-generation Porsche Cayenne, showing the car virtually undisguised.

The car is less rugged and more curved than the current model and has a curved coupe-like side window design that tapers at the back.

Porsche is aiming for significant weight improvements and increased efficiency and this is reflected in the less bulky design.

Reports suggest that as much as 200kg could be shed from the Cayenne, with the weight loss being used to improve efficiency and performance and handling.

The shape, especially on the bonnet, is now even more similar to its 911 and Boxster cousins. Even the wing mirrors are more 911-like and streamlined.

At the front there are daytime running lights and the rear lights are more bulbous. Two tailpipes stick out of the rear and the redesigned spoiler dips in the middle.

The new Cayenne is expected to be packed with technology from the Panamera five-door, including a stop/start system and a hybrid model with a supercharged V6.

The new Porsche Cayenne is also likely to share its architecture with the VW Toureg.

Funny. We had to take all the TouAreg loaner cars away from the Porsche store because they were pissing off the Cayenne customers. They liked them more and they cost half as much.

Reading the owner's manual on a Toureag will make the average "car guy" hate the "over-engineering" on VW's part to make it a dealer service-bay regular....just the simplest of car parts is stupidly complicated on this truck. Sorry for the rant, but my buddy has one and when he started having issues, holy Christ....I was literally pissed at the things the owner's manual said needed to be "dealer serviced only"...LMAO....good looking, but damn sure not worth the hassle.

I'm not ready for such a radical styling change.
