haha no offense, that is the worse video promo ever.
I might make it down there, depending how the weekend looks for me. Already driving 2 hours north to go to Gainesville on Saturday and then MileMarker1 would be 4 hours south on Sunday.... we shall see.
There is an Orlando caravan headed down early Sunday morning if anyone is interested. Should make for a fun drive.
BTW, looking at the event registration there is a pair of 240SX's (one says turbo, another says V8 conversion), a TT 350Z, and a Nissan GTR or two.

GSRACER is one of the three 240's actually. He will be running his recently Supercharged V8
I am one of them also running my stock internal KA-T at 13psi (337rwhp 302tq)
Let's hope she doesn't go KA-BOOM LOL
The third 240 will be ran by one of the guys throwing the event. I believe he is SR powered.
Make sure to stop by and say hello.

Just got home and I feel like I swam in salt water and put clothes on without showering........scratchy ass'd salt crystals.
It was unbelievably hot and I ended up puking in the ladies room of the nearest gas station because the mens room was out of order.
The girl in the next stall was puking too and she started doing the "dueling banjos song" between hurling which made me feel a lot better.
Don't eat the miccosukee branded version of McDonalds Bisquits.
It wasn't until after the first run of the Ford GT that we figured out the boost solenoid had been unplugged the day before when it was being displayed (for C02 conservation purposes).........and it wasn't until the second run that it was plugged in.
We also found out that the factory splitter is more cosmetic than useful and that extending it to make it more functional will require a lot more reinforcement because it ripped all 12 bolt holes at just over 180mph.........turned out that it wasn't necessary anyway so we ran with it off on the other two runs.
We didn't lose the splitter but I'm sure we smoothed off any surface irregularities on the runway as it dragged the last 1/4 of the mile at over 200.
The car ran pretty well for it's first event out of the box and we got a lot of useful data from the data logging system that includes suspension travel data in addition to performance and other data.
I didn't get to see many cars run but one of my favorites was that boxy mistubishi Mirage that was all over the "track" until about half way through the mile when it hooked up.
Another cool car was the magnum station wagon that had a huge scoop where the driver's headlight that projected some wicked blower sounds though he had huge problems putting down the large amount of horsepower he brought.
Someone's supra caught on fire at the end of the mile and I saw it start to smoke at the 2nd to 3rd gear change so I'm not sure if it was an oil line coming off or a popped engine.
Good event......lets me know that there are a lot of cars around that are damn fast on the top end.
Standing Mile is the new Quarter Mile and a good sanctioning body like S.C.C.A. should ditch the drifting events, embrace these standing mile events, and apply thier usual excellent management to events like this because this event started out small and ballooned to far larger than the organizers were prepared to deal with.
Better timing like that found at the back end of drag strips and maybe one handheld laser and one radar unit would give enough information to keep accuracy up because it seemed that the speeds registered on thier "gun" in the traps were on average of 12 to 15mph low if not more when compared to many people's GPS data.
Great event.

Most of the results are posted.
The traps were off for sure reading low on a bunch of cars.
My best was 161mph
I was talking to one of the crew from the white GT for a bit. An older guy with greyish short hair. Saw the splitter scraping as u passed by my little pit area.
Had a great time but it was so damn hot!!!

That was me just after I ate that horrible Miccosukee biscuit left over from breakfast.
I think your car wasn't liking idling in that stifling heat.
Your speed surprised a few people and I am convinced that the S14 aero with a huge hp engine could really do some damage at one of these events.
Of course, starting it up and quickly shutting down over and over could have fouled your plugs and pushing it up the staging lanes was out of the question in that heat.
I cut off most of the unabomber hairstyle just a few minutes ago and will be interviewing at most every lexus/toyota/nissan/infiniti/honda...etc dealership for a service writer position so.....if you know somebody who needs a service writer who also happens to be a master level L-1 technician with toyota, lexus, and nissan certs, let me know.

Oh that was you? Cool. Sorry about the biscuit that sucks. Nothing like a sour stomach in 500 degree heat to ruin your day.
I knew my run was good but even I was impressed when I saw the 161mph.
I had no gear left at all when I crossed I was at 6300 in 5th and redline is 6500.
Not bad for a 100% stock internal KA-T huh? Their radar gun was way off on my 2nd run as they claimed I only hit 144mph. I had my girl in the car for the second run but I crossed at the same rpm in 5th. When I swung around to get my speed the guy told me their radar was messed up and it was reading 15-20mph low so it puts me at the same mph more or less as my first run.
I am going to try to get a hold of someone at Precision soon as the white smoke might have been from a seal on the turbo leaking oil into the exhaust. I am not sure yet. Turbo is a BB Precision SC50 so I am not sure if it's rebuildable if that is the culprit. Engine temps were fine all day even in the blazing heat. I haven't checked the plugs yet. I hope it's something as simple as that.
I definately think a higher HP KA-T would perform excellent but my funds just aren't there for building the motor short of sponsorships falling from the sky. LOL
I don't know of any dealers looking for anyone but I will keep you in mind if I hear anything. I actually have a buddy in Vero with an RB25 Neo S14 that worked for Nissan as a mechanic that had to leave and go to a private shop since business was so little. There are quite a few dealerships down here in Miami though you should call them up if your interviews don't pan out up there.

TAG HEUER equipment this time around to records speeds. During the last 132 feets your car will trigger the start photocell and the end photocell. This equip is what they use over at texas mile.
