All 2 plus 2 models, convertbles, and non turbos had a 222 hp 3.0 dohc v/6.Turbos had a 300 hp 3.0 dohc v/6.I read somewhere that 96' models couldnt be upgraded in the computer chip department.

hey a 222 hp DOHC 3L V6, sounds like maxima to me, i think that's what they were trying to do all along: refer to the maxima as the Z's heir or whatever...
given i know it's not even the same engine...

I agree with thearabian, I think that Nissan made the hp on the Maxima 222 intentionally. Many people that I know thought that the same engine that was in the Z was in the Maxima. Car mags brought up how it was the same number of hp as the NA Z too, and I believe that the hp comparison may have led some people to belief that the two cars have similar performance.

The new Max and the 300ZX TT has the same cornering numbers... at .82-.87g... depending on who ya talk to, but Nissan did this on purpose... and also the interior was also "INSPIRED" by the TT, calling it the "wave" design... they also did that on purpose...
