they cost the same in my area as all the sentras are loaded.
I think the SR20 engine is even better than the KA from what you have all been saying on this site.
isnt the Sentra the better car?

If your decision is engine biased then the Sentra SE is the better car. It just depends on your needs in a vehicle. The Altima is more car, meaning larger...But the Sentra SE 5speed with Performance package is hard to beat... Drive them both and see what you think. The SR20DE in the Sentra is one of the best engines ever made, period. I own a 91 SE-R (SR20DE) and she now has over 102,000 miles and runs like brand new! And there is so much you can do to that engine to make it even more powerful, and it can handle anything you dish out to it...

Ya for this year Sentra will be better then Altima even on performance because Altima only has 10hp advantage over Sentra. Don’t forget Sentra has been redesigned for this year but Altima has not. However, next year when Altima gets redesigned it will be another story, the new Altima is supposed to have around 222hp. Also, don’t for get when most people on this message board talk about the KA engine they are talking about the KA in 240sx not the one in Altima. The one in Altima is a lot more refined and a lot smoother. This is what it come to, if you are planning modifying you engine then I would say the SR engine is better because if the after market support other wise I would choose the KA because the engine has a lot more Torque and feels a lot powerful.

well bout only altima i would consider is a red 99 se limited. just liked the looks of it for an altima. friend has a black 93 its ok. not very impressive inside or out. its not bad but nothing that really gets my senses up. sorta raced him if you call it that. i was pissed and floored it from a redlight not realizing that he needed over to get on the onramp. well we both floor it, he has a 5 speed against my auto classic (93 sentra se-r). he never passed me, never made it past my front door. even with better take off with the 5 speed i still was faster. then i realised why he was flooring it too. but the interior of the old ones are ok, seem small in comparison to the se-r. most 4 doors feel that way to me. being 6'5" and totaly fat the classic feels roomy, never been in the newer bodied altimas tho. for a family car i dont think you can beat it tho. cheap, big enough, and decent long lived engine. if you got the money maxima but for how much the altima is, families should be buying them up. performance on the altima is almost non-exesitant in the aftermarket. i couldnt find him crap for parts like headers/exhausts. think there was like one a piece, and the intakes are the same for a se-r i think.

The altima is larger has more torque and I believe an independent rear suspension
