if you go to the Nissan Site and click on the "Thinking Ahead" Link then click the the "Break Free" link...it shows a flash of what might look like the new Altima...check their on 4-11-01 for what they quote as "Sedan Breaks Free"....i believe this is the new altima and it will get announced in the NYC...now...hopefully we get prices so i can decide whether to get the New Sentra or Altima... http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif

Hi FaLeX.
Good question. Automatics are available with limited slips. the RWD auto Corvette/300zx has an LSD. I believe its only FWD auto-trans cars dont have it. I remember the '92 FWD 5-spd Maxima had a new LSD, but the automatic did not. I wonder if that has changed? Last I checked the auto has the Traction control instead.

I suppose that the Next Altima SE will have something like the VLSD, while the base Altima will not.

Let's say that if we can have an Altima with more power than the Camcord (about 240 HP if I'm right), more interior space, a much better look outside (I'm tired of the bland style of the cars in this segment). An independant suspension, a VLSD, a V-6 with the manu tranny and, better of all, a MRSP that is lower than those CamCord... Well, this baby will easily become the best seller in no time, starting with me!!!

Has anyone noticed that Nissan stole the shape of the trailing edge of the rear door windows from the Chevy Malibu?

What are you talking about? Nissan has had that design since the '89 Maxima, which they got from the old BMW 5series. Malibu is designed to appeal to import shoppers!
