With all the recent hub-bub over at www.nissannews.com, (http://www.nissannews.com,) I guess everyone missed that the '02 Maxima's fuel economy is listed. Remember the '02 Maxima shares the same V6 as the new Altima and weighs about the same. The only differences that could affect the fuel economy is the Maxima's additional 20 hp and its extra gear. For the most part, I see no reason the numbers for the Altima and Maxima should differ:
Cty: 21
Hwy: 28

Well if the 3.5L V6 is getting 21cty 28 hwy, wouldn't it be safe to assume the 2.5L motor would be more economical then the 3.5L? Menaing there's little chance in hell the 2.5L 4cylinder is getting 20mpg.

Well shoot, If the 4-banger gets only 20mpg might as well go all out for the big gun v-6, it's more fuel efficient(ain't that backwards though???)
