Todays intro intro of Fresh Alloy Points out a real truth.Infiniti has no public relations. To test all the new SUV's in the luxury gendre and miss the new QX4.Shame...Shame...
Infiniti needs to get into the public limelight bigtime.I recently presented such a topic as what song should represent Infiniti and there should be QX4's available to all the TV shows as well.
Here's an example of How NOT to do it. In Nashville they have a former socialite who now is spokeperson for the automobile Industry. She has no credential except she is in the paper.Recently she reviewed Both the Nissan Pathfinder and was supposed to test the QX4.She decided the QX4 was worth testing.WHY?Because she didn't want to test it.Period.She felt it was to hoity-toity.No mention of the features , the Skyline derived chassis etc. This was a front page article. She finished the article off by saying don't buy it because I don't like it on principle. She doesn't feel people should buy nice things she disagrees with. Here in a State that Nissan is one of the largest employers in.No publicity is better than that
PMS.
Infiniti can do well to look at what Jag is doing with Sting and maybe they could sponsor some artists nobody would dream Infiniti was aware of.What do you think.
Coming soon : More on the truck and crossover
need.

my local paper recently had an article on the QX4 in the Automotive section (sunday paper). they praised it calling it a showcase of "Science and Technology". they said it brought together a 240hp engine with one of the most advanced all wheel drive systems in the world and driving it exhilerates.

Yeah, I remembered the three kings movie, when Ice Cube and Mark Whalberg were arguing whether Lexus or Infiniti build a convertible. When they got into Saddam's bunker, it was an Infiniti http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif

No amount of media hype can compensate for poor design. And that is one thing Nissan and Infiniti has suffered from over the past few years. Things are looking up, but I still think it's going to take some time for people to realize what a top notch automaker they really are. They just need to get their designs right and people will come flocking. They just need to get the design right.

I think Infiniti should sponcer some of the blockbuster movies out there. I mean, having the Z3 and Z8 roadsters in the James Bond movies did wonders for BMW sales. If Infiniti could get the new Q45 in such a movie would do wonders as far as identity is concerned, which would surely help sales and result in more products for us Infiniti fans.

Imagine the Q45 as the new Bond-Mobile?

I was thrilled to see a Nissan Patrol in Mission Imposible 2. That truck looked great, I mean as great as the Pathfinder is it is rather boring looking. But the Patrol, on the other hand has some attitude that will go well with North Americans.

An Infiniti M30 convertible was in "Three Kings." They mentioned the car many times and showed it as well. The only bad part is when it blew apart. Also if you look closely, the opening sequence of NYPD Blue shows the front of a 1st gen Q. It looks funny because the sceen is "squashed" so the car looks really narrow. I don't remember the name of the movie but Beverly D'Angelo drove a 94-96 Q a few years back. She was the villan.

Public relations is one of the most important parts of a company's overall marketing scheme. People tend to trust more the info that comes through this channel than through advertising. I think that is one reason why Ford, Honda, and Toyota sell so well on reputation. If Nissan/Infiniti can develop good public relations, that would help greatly. Plus it is much cheaper than advertising.

I think a 94 Q was in that movie Thinner based on the book by Stephen King...... correct me if I'm wrong.

I forgot about that one! You are correct. They showed that car several times during the movie.

Speaking of Bond movies, it's a shame they stopped using Aston Martin and Lotus. Something about a British agent driving a British car just makes sense. Has anyone seen the current Aston Martin V8 Vantage? That is an incredible car. Big, heavy, luxurious, and fast as HECK! The ultimate GT, not a sports car.
Although those new "gatling gun" headlights on the new Q could be interesting.

I think there was a Q45 in Martin Lawrance's movie-a thin line between love and hate or something like that.

A red S13 (89,90) coupe was in "Gone in 60 Seconds" parked on the street in the background where Delroy Lindo questions Nicolas Cage as to what he's doing in town after exiting the diner where his mother worked.

Oh, I forgot. Anybody remember the TV show Flash. I think it was on CBS. In the opening credits, it shows the Flash chasing a Z32 300ZX. Not Infiniti, but worth mentioning.

In "Heart and Souls" Robert Downey Jr. Drove a J30 around for quite a while... lots of inside and exterior shots... and he banged up the car pretty good too...

It's great that Infiniti/Nissans have been in so many movies, but they were not the main car in those movies.

When I said that Infiniti should sponser a blockbuster movie, I meant that the Infiniti should be the main car. Like the BMW Z3 and Z8 were in Bond flicks.

Just imagine the publicity that having an Infiniti in a movie from start to finish would create.

Oh! another thing: Men buy vehicles to impress woman, (unless if you play for the other team, obcourse!) so in order to get more people to come into Infiniti showrooms is to impress the woman with Infiniti vehicles. Not too many women out there know what the hell an Infiniti is, infact I have to go into a whole story about what Lexus and Acura are to Toyota and Honda before I can explain what an Infiniti in.

It's a pretty simple theory:

MEN BUY CARS TO IMPRESS WOMEN,
WOMEN NEED TO KNOW HOW GREAT INFINITIS ARE, HENCE MORE MEN AND WOMAN WILL BUY INFINITIS.

Which is why Infiniti needs to advertise, or just find a way to be in, some of the sitcoms such as Friends, Will and Grace, Darma and Greg....etc.

I mean, all the women I know are hooked on those shows. Infact my girlfriend tapes those shows if she can not watch them.

Infiniti should make their own movies like BMW's "The Hire." I loved those movies and the cars until i woke up and saw japanese quality. images/icons/grin.gif Just hire a star(doesn't have to be a big one, jsut someone that is known), show some advertisements, get a good story line(which doesn't have to revolve around the car, but enough to keep the car in sight the whole movie), and done!

There's a yakuza movie starring Omar Epps directed by the ultra cool Beat Takeshi called "Brother". There are a few scenes where the big boss rolls up in a Nissan President, and other guys are driving the Cima. Besides that, everyone should watch this movie... if you enjoy gratuitous violence that is.

This is the place that made the new Q45 commercials. You can try to do a search on their site to see if they made any for the I35.

In the movie "Trapped in Paradise" starring Nicolas Cage, Jon Lovitz and Dana Carvey they drive a 94 or 95 Q45 as the second getaway car involed in a bank job. Until Dana on a snow/ice covered road chased by the police flips the car over a bridge.

also in "Gone in 60 Seconds" on the chalk board crossed out is a 90 or 92 Infiniti Q45 as one of the cars they wanted.

If or when the new GT-R comes out it doesn't need a movie with Bond. I'll buy a ticket to see the car take on the rest of the World.
Could you say Bye-Bye Vette, Supra, NSX and so on. The World class this car has only in Japan and to those of us whom know this company. And to see this car take them on, I would love it.

"The Fast and the Furious" sounds like Nissan/Infiniti.

No, DeNiro is driving an STS in that scene. Why don't you watch the movie before you assume the guy doesn't know what he's talking about?

Yep, it is a J30...Pacino hops out of a helicopter into one all revved up and waiting for him to chase Bobby D. in his STS...I believe he drives a Crown Vic for him "normal" car in most of the film...And in "Traffic" the undercover cops are in a first generation Q as well in the beginning of the film, just to add another...
