Why did they do this to the Primera?
It looks like a small bloated Chevy Malibu. And also a fish-car.

Eventhough it resembles the Primera, thats not actually the new one...according to MagX. They said that the rear will be completely round, to HammerMans dislikes, and and greatly departure the looks of the Primera today. Just my two cents.

I kind of like it not really the rear though G20 has the best rear out of 2 but the front end is nice and Aggresive IMO.

No it's not THE new one, it's the same chassis, just refreshed front and rear...maybe more changes. I didn't bother to find out.

Why did they only update the European one? The Japanese one stays the same.

They change them in europe just to be shure europeans don't like them and to spend more for differant chassis components. http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/tongue.gif

Yes, that is not the new one, I've seen the new one, and it is very round and ugly. Not to say that this one is pretty either.

The front ends are pretty similar. Now that I think of it, this one might be a test mule before they restyled rear end. In fact it's probably a test mule based on the old car with the new car's nose, and a pre production rear end. The current car's rear end is very rounded similar to the current Sentra's.

Just go to the Nissan UK site and check out their Primera... it's very nice looking... agressive yet sleek...

No, check that, I was wrong, that is the current Primera. I was thinking of the Almera, another small car offering from Nissan. They both have very similar noses, thats why I got the two of them mixed up. However, I still think both cars are ugly.

The Jap one stays the same because the all new model is being released b4 the end of the year.
The facelift euro model which is pictured, was because the euro's didn't like the ultraconservative styling.

Yeah thats right, I remember now, the new one will be totally rounded, and will have a nose very simlar to the Almera's. Which to say the least, I dont like.

Is it just me or does that look like a back end straight from the Toyota Corolla?

Regardless, I seriously don't think that will make it to production. Or even if it does, I really don't care as long as that does not make it to Canada.

I love the G20 and Primera. But there is something about this redeisgn that is well, uninspired. I like the headlights and hood. but the bumper cover is all wrong and the rear is just....ugh, lame!

You realise of course that this car is not a concept car, it is already in production and has been on sale for some time!

I must be the only one here that thinks that the Euro Primera looks cool!

Suprisingly, In the flesh, that 'new' Primera (2000) actually looks quite refined close up, sort of smoother and more up-class than the former (especially in metallic silver or grey). But this's cost it (IMO) overally the more wholesome elegantly sporty (Audi/Focus/Mondeo threatening) image of old unfortunately, and that's a huge pity. No explanations for why they had to make the nose that unpretty. However generally the market here (Scandinavia) seems to have accepted it, since it's still one of the best Nissans all-round currently.

You all know this is just a fresh t-shirt for the Primera and to really know where the new car is headed you have to look at the new Fusion. http://www.automotivenews.com even is aware of this. I think the elements of the I 30 tailights and the soften of the bumpers probably works well in person.Thank goodness it loses some of the Basic Monotonous Weak design elements.
