Infiniti Full Size SUV

The current issue of AUTOMOBILE magazine has a brief story on Infiniti's big SUV. It will arrive in late 04 as an 05 model, be V8 powered (of course) and share mechanicals with Nissan's full sized pickup (also, of course). The rendering shows a massive vehicle featuring a prominent Infiniti grille and sharply creased sheetmetal and bulging wheelwells. Not bad looking although I wonder how legit this image is at this early stage.

Yet unnamed, the big SUV will be built at Nissan's Mississippi plant along side the Alpha Pickup Truck.

And as many have speculated the eventual arrival of FX45 will spell the end of the QX4.

I, for one, am thrilled with the FX45. It will have a waiting list a mile long. But I was reporting on FX45's bigger brother.

The sketch in Automobile Mag shows a slightly more angular vehicle but still undoubtedly an Infiniti. It's also good to see Infiniti starting to have a strong brand identity, M45 notwithstanding.

I am very excited about the FX45, but Jason B that isn't the vehicle that is being talked about. Go take a look at the magazine, I did see it and it looked pretty good.

I saw the vehicle pictured in that article and it reminded me very much of the Isuzu Axiom. Hmm....

Not at all. At least not according to the artist who did the sketch. It's not as boxy or plated as the Crossbox. The SUV in the drawing has the crisply defined shoulder line of the Quest Minivan concept and, as another poster mentioned, kind of an Axiom-like overall shape but much more aggessive and imposing. I'm sure the rendering will be showing up soon on various sites but in the meantime just check out the article.

i dont know where to get this magazine...as i live in a lowlife town...but i need pictures!! i am so anxious to see this new "HUGE INFINITI" and i also think the FX45 is gorgeous...if not a little bootylicious...it is gorgeous. And btw, your quote is awesome INFINITI-WORLDTAKEOVER....really cool Step into my world the real world. And watch my tail light dim into the distance ...i like it a lot... ;) :grin:
