Hey guys, I'm STILL waiting for my black Spec V. It'll be here on the 6th. Anyway, just a quick question. Should I invest in a buffer or just hand polish it? I want to keep it as clean as possible at all times with the "wet" look. Any suggestions? What kind of polish or wax do you recommend?

Don't use a buffer if you don't know how you could destroy the paint finish, just use a little elbow grease and either Meguiars or Eagle One, I like the Eagle One Wet Look polish looks great and real easy to apply and it pulls off a lot of built up dirt, the surface feels like glass.
If your looking for informative people who detail their own vehicles check out f150online.com and in the general care secion look for a guy named intel486 his f150 is black and looks like it has a mirror shine.
You can even check out http://autopia-carport.com/ it's a forum for detailing or to share car cleaning tips, something like that

I agree with SilverSleeper, don't use a buffer, you can do more harm than good. I have a black Spec-V and only hand polish it, looks great. I use McGuires wax, it keeps it nice and shiny images/icons/grin.gif

If you're talking about a Rotary buffer, one that just spins (like makita's), yeah, you can burn your clearcoat if you don't know what you're doing.
If you are talking about a Random Orbit buffer, like a Porter Cable, there is NO WAY it will damage your paint.
I recently purchased a Random Orbit buffer, it is awesome, the results as compared to hand polishing are night and day. I still apply wax by hand though.

is it a buffer with a form head, those are the ones you use the one that has a solid head with the cotton bonnets are garbage.
just a little side note if you have ever seen a black limo in the sun most of them look as if they where buffed with a low grade of sand paper, that is not what you want your car looking like

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial[/img]Actually since you're familiar with Autopia, it is the Porter cable 7424, and the pads are part of the Kit that www.properautocare.com (http://www.properautocare.com) sells.
So far it helped me rid my black 240 of about 80% of it's swirls.
