Dent suggestions??

This is kinda two part question....

Has anyone taken off a panel like the front fender and hammered out a dent themselves?? Or does it save alot of money to take it off yourself and then have a body shop do it?? Thanks..

Second is, anyone in\near Chicago know of any good body shops that specialize in paintless dent repair?? I got quoted on a large dent for $200!! I'm sure i can find better....

What kind of dent is it? If it's a small ding they can use dry ice to pop it out without having to use bondo or paint. I'm sure it will save you some to take the panel off but ask the shop first.
