just saw pics again from busybeetoys of next toyota supra:

If that's the next Supra, I think whatever styling the Z will have, the Z will win. That supra is really ugly... http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum//images/icons/smile.gif

Also there's pic of Acura RL, looks as boring as ever.

Yikes, I'd rather have the next incarnation of the psychotic looking Skyline GTR (not my style to begin with) over that Supra.... Good god, does Toyota not know how to style 2 door sports cars? The only good looking 2 door Toyota has styled to date is the SC300/400.

Oh well 400+ HP out of a twinturbo V8 sounds quite nice and very expensive.

As a former owner of 2 MKIV SUpras, I am very disgusted with this new proposed MKV Supra. But there is hope. NOte that there is actually two iterations of this concept in the works..the SUpra and a 4000GT derivative. Word is the Supra will stay in Japan (and be relegated to it's demise..RIP), while the US will get a V8 hi-po version as the 4000GT, and hopefully styling that of the LEvin (mini F360-esque) -as seen below:

But then again, the only styling I've enjoy (besides the MKIV Supra, MKII MR2] has been from Calty in So Cal...

That Levin looks awesome--like a Celica GTS on steroids! Especially love the wheels. http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum//images/icons/cool.gif

The Headlights are similar to the Merc, and so is the overal styling, but hey it comes with a turbo V-8 the Merc doesnt. At first glance to me it actually looked somewhat like the upcoming Z-car. Ignore the Mercury headlights and swap in a pair of larger rounder ones and you'll be quite surprised just how similar it really is to the up and coming Z-car. I also see a bit of Ferrari in it as well.

You miss-read some one else's post. No Corolla/Levin/Trueno/Sprinter will ever come with a turbo V8.

That yellow concept will most likely be FR (harkening back to the days of the AE86 rear drive Corolla's), and powered by a 5 valve-per-cylinder, 1.5 to 2.0 liter, inline four with optional force injection. They've used superchargers on past Corolla/MR2 4AGE engines, but Toyota likes turbos too.

So as not to compete with their own Celica--from which this car takes styling cues--I think Toyota will keep this car a bit smaller and lighter than the Celica, and under 2.0 liters. Celicas have been powered by 1.8 to 2.2 liters throughout history (I don't remember anything less than 1.8), and Corollas have long been powered by 1.5 liter engines (any other sizes? I can't think of any).

Yeah I did, I saw the Supra picture over at busybeetoys last night and let me tell you words cannot describe how ugly it really is. Oh well, makes me happy, for once Toyota is making the ugly cars! On the other hand not much can be said about the up and coming Z car... http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum//images/icons/frown.gif

Does Toyota have to copy everything from the Mercury Cougar http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum//images/icons/rolleyes.gif

Ah, the good old AE86. That is the ultimate drifter's car. light, cheap, and lots of fun.

If the formula is to stay the same, the new Levin/Trueno will be powered by their 1.6L 4 cylinder 5 valve per cylinder engine pushing about 160 to 180ps.

I would take this car anyday over the new Celica. RWD rules!!!

i dont think that's two tone paint. i think its shadow, and because of the defined crease in the side, it kinda looks duotone.
