What do you all think of the 2000 Cougar?

Is it just me or is Ford messing up in the engine department, 2.5L V6 that only gets 170HP? technically, with all the companies with the pocketrocket cars, that car should get upwards of 200 HP no?

I guess I'm just jealous that my friends parents got one, and he has a POS Cavalier Convertible broken down in his garage and he gets to drive that Cougar...

He thinks it has 240 HP cause of some intake thing put on by the dealer, but I highly doubt that.

Anyways, I want to hear all the input on this car.

Ford's not messing up, they're creating "shareholder value." The cougar probably gets the same V6 as the Taurus. And when your building 400k+ engines for one car, you can build the other 37 for all those cougar fans.

There is a Mecury Cougar S with 200hp just came out March 2000. They advertise it as the Special Edition Mercury Cougar.
