It's one of the best automotive magazines on the market with clever writing (if a bit too British at times) and the BEST photography of anything on the planet. That's my two cents.

Check it out at your Barnes and Noble or Borders.

I definately agree. US car magazines pale in comparison to those from the UK. Sure everything has flaws, but I can agree Car magazine is the cream of the crop in quality. I sometimes read Autocar (auzzie mag) if its ever available http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif...

I read it all the time! I especially enjoy the Subaru WRX vs. Mistubishi Lancer articles they seem to incorporate into their magazines just about every month. I also enjoy reading about the Skylines!! Remember the April 99 issue when the R34 came out??

I also read "CAR", and I agree that it's one of the best automotive rags available in the US.

I especially like the photography and print quality of the pages.

American published "Car & Driver" and "Road & Track" are okay, but I can only read so many full size truck and minivan features.

Very nice magazine...but they are very prejudiced against American cars. I don't know what kind of modification American cars must undergo to be exported there, but most of their horespower and gas mileage ratings are way wrong.

I personally like the Viper a lot, and they trash it, despite the fact that it could blow most cars in that hemisphere out of the water.

I guess they are also doing a little PR for thier own market: notice how Caterhams, Aces and TVRs are praised highly despite the fact that even they admit they are very unreliable and extremely quirky.

I went to Shinders today, and checked out the CAR article. Basically they said that the RS4 have 360 hp and the Skyline GTR have 280, but the GTR is every bit as quick as the RS4. So their conclusion-there's no way the GTR only has 280 hp!!!!! http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif

Well, if you've ver noticed, there is no such thing as a japanese production vehicle having more than 280 hp. All the domestic automotive companies made a decision not to make cars over 280hp....but some of them break their own rules....the Skyline, for instance, probably makes much MUCH more than 280, and I've heard as much as 360 hp, but for "official" purposes, it is only rated at 280hp.

That's why you see ALL the sports sedans, all the sports cars, and anything supposed to be fast rated at only 280 hp.

Even though they are part of a huge company, EMAP Petersen (also publishing Motortrend), they don't seem to have a web site.

I suspect that will change soon.
