Ford completely ripped off Nissan's Xterra ad campaign with their sport trac "suv" commercials. they look exactly like the Xterra commercials and if i remember right, i think one had Lenny Kravits' "fly away" song playing in the background. Ford's completely unoriginal in their advertising of the sport trac and in making the sport trac itself. i hope their advertising backfires and people mistake the ads for Xterra ads and buy an Xterra http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif

What about Oldsmobile Aurora copying Nissan Maxima desert commercial. Unlike the Maxima ad with cool music and 120mph 4 wheel drift, the Aurora driver is swerving like a drunk.

LOL Cause most of the time Oldsmobile drivers ARE drunk. Why do you think they drive such crappy cars?? Just kidding http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif
As far as Ford's entire concept behind the Sport Trac goes, it is obvious to me that they are trying to take advantage of a marketing niche created by Nissan. Unfortunately they've succeded in providing their car with a bigger engine a well known weak point unfortunately not in Nissan's favor. One thing people need to realize however, just like the Explorer it is based on, the Sport Trac frankly really sucks off road. The Nissan is far more capable in the rough which I believe can be a far greater advantage than a more powerful motor. Now only if Nissan would offer the supercharged motor in ALL the Frontiers, not just the top of the line models.
Explorer Sports Trac, Nissan SUT, who cares. They are nothing more than a 4door Truck with a different name. I'm glad Nissan is not pursing it anymore. Good Idea at first but the 4door truck won. How many sports tracs do you see on the road anyways. Since it's introduction I've only seen 1. Ok I'll admit it. I did see a whole rack of them at the dealership.
