"New Car Smell" Survey

Hey FreshAlloy forum members,

I'm conducting a small study for a friend and I need your (valuable) feedback/opinions. I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

1) Can you describe "New Car smell"?
2) If you were buying a luxury car,...how would you want it to smell?
3) Any new cars out there that you believe to have good "New Car smell"?

That's funny that you ask this today....I was at a Ford dealer today checking out the new Focus. I was struck as to how cars have different new car smell depending on the make. Don't laught but I think...the Focus had a European new car smell to it.

Its hard to describe new car smell except that it smells cool. I'd have to think about it!

- A compendium of freshly manufactured products: electronics, plastic components, rubber trim, upholstery = floormats, carpeting, seats made of leather, vinyl, or cloth, all blended perfectly for that 1st whiff of the scent emanating from the interior ventilation system as one tests the air conditioning on that 1st test drive. Isn't it intoxicatingly delicious?

- Mild leather...with a hint of cloth

- Most American makes, preferrably the ones rental car companies purchase in bulk.

1) kinda smells like new plastics and cloth and kinda like armor all (used armor all recently and a friend said my truck smelled new)

2) maybe a like a new a new pair of shoes

3) only new car i've been in recently was a mitsu galant a while back, it smelled good
