does anyone know how much it would cost to import a car from japan?

well i read in a mag somewhere that its really complicated first you have to find a company to check it out so they can tell the states DMV or whoever it is that the car is smog legal and has all the right safty equipment and if not it has to be modified so it meets those standards
and there is a lot of other things i cant even remember from the article but it would take like 6 months for all the paper work to be cleared
