Being a mintrucker I would probably drive a *Cough* Toyota P/U.

I can't imagine life without my 720.

Acura, BMW.

Thats funny but probably will be taken down^^^. If nissan didnt exist, there probably wouldn't be any japanese cars over here. There the company that proved that japan could build a reliable well built car with good performance at a good price.

If they didn't exist, I would drive a reliable BMW(if they exist)

...then i'd probably be driving a '98 Datsun 510

I'll be sad with the car offering and will end up driving an echo.

Let us assume Datsuns were an early indication of the popularity of imported cars, and then let us assume that Nissan didn't exist and that Japanese cars failed to take hold in the U.S. . . . then . . .

I imagine that I would be dead from some firey car accident resulting from poor car quality. You see, here in the U.S. we would be driving Citations, Chevettes, and Pinto Mk. mcmxxiv (<-- mock-ups of roman numerals) with welded 5-sided gas tanks .

actually, I would get a bunch of my friends together that disliked the offerings of most car companies and build a new one. Nissan would be a good name, and we could build a luxury division and call it Infiniti. Our products would be superior to all others, and it would make some people jealous. These jealous people would probably go to Nissan enthusiast websites and post dumb topics to annoy the people who drove better cars than them.

If Nissan didn't exist, well:

WWII wouldn't be the same. Nissan was a major manufacturer of military vehicle for Japan as was Toyota.

The Corvette would be the best selling sports car in the world because the Nissan Z cars are the best selling sports car and also the fast selling sports car in the world.

Import compact trucks wouldn't be sold in the US.

UN troops wouldn't have SUVs to drive around. Many are the Nissan Patrol, as well as Terrano II.

IMSA racing wouldn't have produce big winners like Steve Millen, etc.

Prince Motor Company may still exist, selling the Prince Cedric, Prince Gloria, Prince Skyline, Prince Silvia.

Funny names like Sunny wouldn't be use to name a car.

Bunch of Japanese young man wouldn't be stuffing their sports car into the side of the mountain in a sport call drifting.

etc...

I would drive an Eagle Talon, which you guys in the US know as Mitsu Eclipse, but with slightly different body.

Oh wait, I might still have a chance to drive an Opel. My dad owned one when I was a little kid. It was whyte and it had a 1100cc or something engine.

I like alot of cars..but Nissan is my creme de la creme. However, if they didn't exist I'd drive a Mazda. specifically a Millenia(not the new one! UGH), 626, MX6 or RX7. They have the second best (tied w. Mitsu) car designs in America besides Nissan (of course if Nissan didn't exist they would be tied first lol). There are too many Hondas and Toyotas on the road, and they just aren't as appealing to me as other cars.

I have no idea what my next car is going to be. When Ford took over management of Mazda I was sure I would never buy another Mazda--after all those early stories that all future Mazdas would be built on Ford platforms. Now there has been an aboutface and Mazda states it is developing its own new cars and engines. The next Protege is said to share most of its styling cues with the RX8--that ought to be interesting.

When I thought I would never buy another Mazda, my first thought was Nissan. But now I'm not sure.

I love small cars--I'm 6'5" and I want the smallest car I can fit into. The previous generation Mazda Protege was the smallest car with the most interior room. The current Sentra is just a hair too small for me, so my thought was I would get an Altima. But now the 2002 Altima sounds way too big! It's funny that while most people felt Nissan's problem was odd sized cars, I thought the sizes were odd but good.

I will most likely test drive cars from Nissan, Mazda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Honda and Acura before I make a final decision.

I'll be honest and say if Nissan did not exist when I bougt my SE-R, I would be driving a CRX Si right now....I would have bought it new in 91 like I did the SE-R.

And if I did trade the CRX Si in by now, I would have traded up for an Integra GSR.

Simple as that...

SentreSE-RMan, the car I wanted more than anything was a CRX. There really wasn't anything I could do to convince myself as my head was pressed to the roof that there was enough headroom. It was always interesting that Honda gay it so much...too much...legroom because the farther you slid the seat back, the lower the roof was. It's sad for us tall guys who love small cars.

I test drove a 91 CRX Si thoroughly when I bought the SE-R. I must be lucky enough to be just right at 6'2" to where the headroom in the CRX was no problem for me. I have been in larger cars that have been worse in that area though. I agree, I also prefer small cars and I actually have more of a problem with the Current Sentra than I do in my 91. The door panels where the power controls/armrest are are always against my leg. Where the 91, the arm rest curves upward and inward away from my long legs. The classic SE-R has one of the best packaged interiors...it is like it was made for me. http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif

Ditto.

Well, add a (dependable) RX-7 and that's my current used car candidate list.

Funny you mention the RX7..I had a 89' model at one time too..I cant recomend one though..The manual tranny took a dump at 62k miles! The MR2 was flawless reliability wise from day one to the day I sold it.

Let me add also that If I had to purchase a new car today and Nissan did not exist, I feel the 2002 Impreza RS (I choose it personally over WRX for the fact of it's lower sticker price and I am not fond of Turbo cars) would be my new ride. And being Nissan does Exist and the SE-R is still not yet out, I would still choose an Impreza. When the SE-R does come out, this could change things...and then it may not.

This new Impreza, being homely on the outside is just such a well engineered, well built car with standard All Wheel Drive...I can live with that! http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/shocked.gif
