Looks more like a jacked up station wagon to me than an SUV. It's funny how they'll call just about any high riding wagon an SUV. F-you Porsche.

YOu know I thought it was silly when BMW was gonna come out with an SUV, but it turned out nice, so Im gonna save my opion til I see it in person.

Isn't VW gonna build a SUV off of this same platform?

Come on, this isnt even an SUV. They call it an SUV, (Subaru Outback wagon anyone?) because they know it will sell. Ever thought of how poorly it would sell if they called it the new AWD Porsche wagon? Damn SUV's and the wannabe yuppies that drive them anyway.

I agree. Anything with "sporty utility" in front of it makes it a seller. But for as much money that they will be selling this thing for, they could at least find a better place for the spare tire.

looks like that "thing" is taking the corner like a champ...

but, i still think Porsche and SUV or wagon or Sport-Activity-Vehicle should not be in the same vicinity

Since when have SUV's been about corner carving? Correct me if I'm wrong, but arent they about rugged off-road ability? BTW I agree, Porsche and SUV should not be in the same sentence.

Reminds me of when Porsche was developing a 4door sedan in the early '90's and profits for the company weren't that good. Porsche then halted development( I believe they had prototypes made) and swore they will "never produce a 4door car". They instead said they will concentrate on what Porsche is all about, GT's and Sports cars and developed the Boxster concept car. Now this SUV appears. This seemes more blasphomis than the sedan concept.

If Porshe wants to build an SUV--fine. If they're going to build one, why not build a TRUE SUV with amazing off-road capability rather than an on-road only corner carver with 20" wheels. What a waste. If they're going to do an SUV make it a REAL SUV and not an urban poseur vehicle like that thing in the pic. I hope this is all BS anyways though.
