I went to check the mail today and there was a small flyer from toyota, at first i thought it was just another sales event or some thing like that but to my surprise it was a sneek peak at the New Camry. It went as followed:
"Something great is coming...to your local Toyota dealer. That's when the 2002 Camry, America's best-selling car*, will arrive just in time for your next automobile purchase. With it's all-new look and feel, the new Camry is something you've just got to see to believe. It's heading your way September 4, so save the date."
Now i didn't order any info. on the new Camry so they must be targeting all Nissan, Honda and most likely Ford and GM buyers (my friend has an Accord and he got one too) But still no public info. on the new Altima no ads no nothing.
Toyota is trying really hard to beat Nissan and the New Altima to the gun here.

I just received a mailing on the new Altima today, 7/2. I thought it was a cd, as the size was about that of a cd case. But actually, it was a small black and white brochure inside with the heading "COMING THIS FALL FROM NISSAN" with a frontal view of the 2002 Altima on the cover. A fold-out revealed a side view of the car with the words "THE SEDAN BREAKS FREE". Turning the page shows its new taillight and headlight design with the words "Engaging Design: Innovative features from tip to tail, including ultra-bright xenon headlights". The next page shows the instrument panel with "Modern simplicity; more interior room than Toyota Camry or Honda Accord", with the footnote "Based on 2002 Altima vs. 2001 Camry and Accord". The next page shows its automatic shifter and gate with the words "Now wave to the unfortunate souls in your rerview mirror", and its engine choices. The last page is a post card to fill out so that Nissan can send information as it becomes available.

It will only be available as an option on the 3.5 SE I believe. The 02 Max will have standard HID's across the board.

Toyota trying hard to beat Nissan???? Beat Nissan at what? Sales numbers? Quick advertising?
The new Altima is a reaction to BAD sales. Nissan is the one trying to CATCH UP.

Damn ,thats impressive. For a car of this class to have HIDs, Nissan is really out for blood! I suppose desperate times call for desperate measures...
Will the new Max(not the coming 3.5L) goto RWD??
Whats the expected top end price for a loaded 02 Max(3.5L)?
I got the Same thing http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif

I haven't received mine yet, I live in the DC suburbs. I did get a little thing about the Altima that came with my lease payment. Funny that they would send me one since I'm tied down for another 3.5 years on my 01 SE.
