I want to get feed back on what you would think of FreshAlloy coming out with a magazine. Would you be willing to pay for a print magazine and what would you expect. Give me your thoughts!

i think that'd be great. i'd considering subscribing -- only if there's not a ridiculous amount of advertising in it (some lower level zines are that way).

four bucks an issue wouldn't be asking too much. i would expect news on nissan before any other zines have it, future products, rumors, etc

FOUR BUCKS AN ISSUE!!!

I like freshalloy.com and all, but, they are not any TIME or WSJ that can demand that high of a price. And, since they are only limited to Nissan, FOUR Bucks is too much. Try 50cents and fill it with enough advertising to help you break even. images/icons/confused.gif images/icons/shocked.gif

I would be interested in it. I guess the main thing would be photos and impressions of Nissan's line up and comparisons to other brands would be nice. Just objective stuff...numbers aren't necessary. Also, I know people hate advertising, but it would be nice if parts suppliers (factory and aftermarket) and such could get involved and offer discount coupons. Not too many though! images/icons/smile.gif

Do you mean a free on-line magazine? If so, then I'd say do it. If you have in mind a paid print subscription, it'll depend on the content, but you are probably facing a challenge.

Most of us already subscribe to enthusiast magazines, and have plenty of access to up-to-the-minute news and information from on-line sources, FreshAlloy being one of them. Many of us are also members of owners clubs and receive club magazines. I can't imagine adding another paid subscription to my already burgeoning reading list, and others may feel the same way.

The necessary lead time for print publications will also dictate that you avoid "news" items and focus purely on timeless subject matters: Road tests; features; historical items. Here again, you've got lots of existing competition.

Finally, since you'd presumably want to reserve any original materials for the publication, wouldn't this forum become nothing more than a bulletin board at that point?

I would much prefer the existing forum to be improved.

A nice quarterly review would be nice.
Something in print that would sum up where Nissan's been and where they're headed, all from a Nissan enthusiast's point of view. By all means, advertise in it all you want, just keep the ads and the articles separate (like all good car magazines do).

The print version of FreshAlloy could offer in-depth analyses of Nissan strategies, interviews with Nissan executives, virtual tours of Nissan plants and design facilities, and other Nissan-centric articles. If it was a well done quarterly, I'd be willing to pay probably $8-10/yr for a subscription.

Why not have a interactive online magazine of some sort? Say maybe 2-5 bucks a month? It would save trees; publication and production costs; money in general; and time to mail things out, which in itself is an especially good idea with this "anthrax in the mail" BS going on.
