Ok look i have a couple of questions.
One i dont care for hondas but did honda ever make a sohc vtec or are they all dohc's if they are vtec.
second what is the biggest turbo we can put on our 240 i have a 1997 240 i wont get a turbo for a while but i am thinking of makeing a homemade turbo kit so i was wonderin what is the biggest turbo we can put on our car and runnit everyday but not have to spend thousands of dollars to get internal work done so it wont blow my engine.
dont put me down for asking about a honda my moms accord is a 2002 and she has a vtec and i am just curios.

Honda did make SOHC Vtec motors.. most notably.. in the Del Sol SI models..

Regarding the turbo issue.. i dont have enough knowledge to tell you exactly whats what

All U.S. Accords that are vtec are sohc. I think that all Accords are sohc. Newer (not sure what years) civic ex's have sohc vtec, the rest of the civic lineup is just plain sohc, no vtec. The exceptions are the 99-00 civic si's and 94-97 or 98 civic del sol's, they are available with a dohc vtec. All prelude's w/vtec are dohc, as are S2000's. Sohc vtec is used to make the engine more fuel efficient and other such things, not performance as the dohc vtec's are. Probably more than what you were looking for but what can I say?

Regarding the turbo issue:

I am limited in knowledge but maybe someone could back me up.

The turbo size is not the biggest deal. You want a turbo that flows the right amount of air that you desire, in the amount of time you desire. You could get a monstrous turbo and have it flow till forever, BUT when will it reach it's limit? What RPM range? That is called lag.

Basically...do a serach....most people go with t3/t4 or straight T4. I THINK t3/t4 have quick t3 spool up and high t4 flow.

Straight t4 will give high flow spool up a bit slower.

If you drag and want quick spool then go with smaller turbo...if you road race and ar usually in the upper RPM range...go bigger.

I chose a K27, along the lines of T4...i don't plan to drag.

BTW, my mom has a SOHC VTEC Accord.

haha...my mom's a racer...j/k.

Don't be scared of the VTEC...

I ran an S2000...I won too. How?? The guy never downshifted...idiot...tried to look cool...that's what he gets!

I thought that she had a sohc but was curios that is all i wanted to know she has the vtec i am not scared at all she only has a four cyl ans it only has 150hp and she dosent care about speed but she flies down the road now.but what i was wondering what would be the best turbo that will give me good responce and alot of hp i dont want a t3/t4 but i was looking at a gt30 t4 turbo from turbonetics but i am trying to get a good turbo whenm i do and put a good kit together i want to be able to hit 400+ hp so i can whip up on mustangs, vetts, supras, type r civics there are some around here and all those cars that be putting me the 240 down saying our cars are ****ty. so if i were to make a kit with a TO4S turbo what wil i need to get this turbo to run right.

GO ask this question in the Off Topic section or even the Car Lounge forum... this is not the place to ask.

it seems as if you are going to be drag racing. I don't know much about the t04s but make sure you get a quick spooling turbo...if you wana drag. At least that's what I would do.

You don't want a lot of lag leaving the line.

Please separate your Vtec and turbo-240SX question.

This topic will be moved to the "Car Lounge" forum.

If you want to repost your turbo-240SX question, please repost it without the Honda parts.

Thanks,
