how many people here have thought about the purchase of this car and also considered the g35 sedan? I know price wise the Passat starts at 38k, but its fully loaded at that price too. You can get a g35 with all the options (including body kit) minus navigation to cost around that same price. Plus you get an extra 15 horses and about 15 more lbs of torque. Personally id prefer the g35 because it looks tooo sweet with that optional body kit. Plus im guessing that the vw is a couple hundred lbs heavier and I'm not sure if the extra 15 horses along with awd will make up for it. Lastly im sure that the passat will under go a shape change within 2 years and the g35 is a new design.

The W8 won't beat a G35, but will keep up. It does mid to higher 6's to 60 while the G does 5.9. I would opt for the G because I love Nissan cars, and prefer to have a reliable car unlike VW's.

I dont trust the W configuration at this moment. Don't know about the W8, but the W12 Audi, which is currently sold overseas, has had over 50% of its sales plaqued with problems. VW/Audi was down, then up, right now its a little down, but it looks like Audi will soon start ballin' and VW is looking toward an immense failure.

I'm not impressed by a car that has to have a W8 to top a car with a V6 by 10 horses. The Passat still uses the same rear-suspension that was used on '75 VW's and the reliability of these cars is for sh!t. Besides, a fully loaded V6 Passat is $32K and a W8 is about $39. $7K for a W8?
