Watch out for vw!! Theyve taken a passat shoved a v8 in it that produces 270Hp and 275 torque!! with a relatively light weight and awd. What do you all think. Definitely not a g but and not a brand of sorts but serious power for a car that size images/icons/frown.gif

It takes a V8 from Volkswagen to get to 10 more horsepower than the G35, huh? It's also about $40,000!! Who's paying $40K for a Passat? People don't even want to pay $32K for a Passat.

VW? you'r comparing wrong cars here. Kind of like apples to oranges. Passat is the size of M45/A6/E/5 Series. It can be compared to I35 but not with G35. And its heavy and with awd, its no lightweight as you put it. And again with 40K, you can buy a faster M45.

Oh, just what I want: The first year of a brand new engine design type (W8) that no one else has ever made. oh and from a German manufacturer.

It will be interesting to see how it holds up reliability wise. How smooth it is. And how quickly they either move it into an Audi or deep six it.

BTW, the Passat it will go in is a pretty stripped down model. No leather, no auto option, no power seats for $40K (gee sounds like a 330).

Nice car, passat always did have an upscale look to it and has a lot of nice features including awd, car comes loaded @38k. yes the w8 has 'only' ten more hp, but it has a different power delivery than the G35. that seemed to be a complaint when compared to a bmw 330, torque low down vs the g's torque at 4000rpms. should do well since i think its the only import '8'cylinder in the 30k range.
