My Dad had a 1993 MR2 turbo, and it was a blast I loved it. He always said he would give it to me when i turned 16, but he got rid of it before i got my license. I actually looked at a couple, before I bought my 240. Like you, I wanted a Supra TT, but they are hard to find, and I got deal on the S14, I couldn't pass up! I love the Mr2, I say go for it.

MR2 is an AWSOME car... they can be VERY fast and handle EXTREMELY well

right up there with 3rd gen RX-7s although they are harder to drive at the limit

the motor is rock solid and has TONS of aftermarket support for it

they can run mid 13s with basic boltons and low 12s with a simple turbo and fuel upgrades

did i mention they launch VERY hard? images/icons/smile.gif their MR layout allows optimal weight transfer when going straight and it really moves off the line

Totally...the MR2 is dope as hell...just finding one that is in pristine condition will be a bit hard. But go for it...I like the looks of them...they are lil Ferrari's w/o the price.

Great engine. The 3s-gte is a dream come true; its ruggedness rivals the sr20det and it can take crazy amounts of boost on a stock bottom end. As for the handling, i've been told that the car is very ideal for autocross because of the short wheelbase but when the car is at the limit the handling can be unforgiving and the car is a bit hard to control...but for a conditioned rwd driver, driving an mr2 is a rewarding experience. Either way, it is a pure driver's car and I sure would like one as well.

My friend has an mr2 with a fully built motor stock turbo and exhaust (I know, he's doin everything backwards) He boosts at 14 or 15 psi with street tires and he runs 13sec flat. I can only imagine what he'll do with an upgraded turbo, 3 inch exhaust, and a pair of drag radials...the potential is huge. He could be runnin like high 11's.

The motors are supposedly bullet-proof.I am also under the impression they handle really quicky when being pushed.
