I have an Eclipse 5504 head unit in my 96 SE was wanting to know if any one out there had Eclipse head units and if they were satisfied with them....

I would love to have one, but they are expensive & I heard they skip real easy(maybe not this years models but they used to)

Mine never skipped. Best head unit and CD changer I've ever owned and worth the extra expense, IMO. Several people I know have had them too and none have been problematic. Just pick one up and you can tell by the weight that it's a solid unit.

I've had Eclipse, Nakamichi, Alpine, and Sony CD players and I would rate the Eclipse units as the best.

I have an Eclispe 3421 and i love it...has to be the best headunit that i have owned. As for skipping...what skipping...mine has never skipped, sure i've only had it about 5 months now but within that time my music has been skip-free.

The clearity is fantastic but it skips a lot!! Will be sending mine in soon before 3 month warranty goes off. Mine is a 5342 model. I think they are somewhat over priced.

I've got an Eclipse indash 6 disc cd changer and cassette deck(4422R) in my 93 Pathfinder SE. I bought them both at my local SoundAdvice back in '96 and haven't switched to anything else since then. I'm real happy with both decks. Now if only I could get my speaker setup just right...

Eclipse head units are top notch, they are very sensitive to how you install them. One my 1995 240SX, i have personally used
rubber o-rings at the attachment points, sorta like mini shock absorbers. They help out alot since i have a 2 years old eclipse deck that is prone to skipping depending on the road condition, this solved all my problems. (former good guys installer)

i have a 55430 head unit and i love it and i tell you another thing i love about eclipes if it gets stolen with in a year after installation they will replace it for free with a police report trust me i know from experance i hat mine stolen 3 months after i got it

Eclipse is definately top notch. I had a full Blown Eclipse A/V system in a 2K Maxima I used to have. Best stuff out there.
