Will a 6.5" Cerwin Vega component set fit in the front of my new altima and will 6X9" speakers fit in the rear? Thanks for your replies.

It depends on which year Altima you have. 98& up come with 6 3/4 all around. If you have a 97 & before it has 5x7's in front & 6x9's in the back if it has a factory CD player, if it doesnt, its 5x7 in front & 6 3/4 in the rears. But if you have a jig saw, you can make anything fit. My old Audi had 5 1/4 in the back & I put in 6x9's.

Oops, sorry I didnt see that you said "new". I just got all of that info from my crutchfield mag & it doesnt have the new Altima in it. Its a larger car so I would think that it would have 6x9's in the rear. I would almost bet on the fronts being 6 1/2's but I dont know if there it a seperate tweeter so you may have to cut a hole in the door.

Should I go with Cerwin Vegas of Infinity speakers?

Cerwin Vega's for bass, if you want that kinda thing. But my choice would be the infinit speakers, very well rounded with great highs (Good Guys Installer recommended)
images/icons/wink.gif It also depends if your rear deck speakers are either 2 way or 3 way... get three ways for all around with better highs, or 2 way for an added bass punch

2way speakers arent any better for bass than a 3 way. The only thing different is 3way add a midrange, they may actually be better since it would narrow the frequency range that the woofer would have to reproduce.

i guess this is your first system, you might wanna try and do the install yourself- best way to learn whats going on. then when you want to upgrade in the future you'll know what your doing and save a lot of money. i was gonna have circuit city install my first amp but i couldn't get an apointment when i wanted n i'm glad i didn't cause now i how to do it. i ordered through crutchfield- kinda a must for a 1st timer- and they will walk you through it step by step. i'm sure if you call their toll free number they will be able to guide you in the right direction for the system you want and recomend different speakers depending on what you would like to spend.
